Ok, so i have played morrowind for years, on a desktop and a laptop. I have recently purchased a asus x83v from a friend to replace my old desktop until i have built a new one. I have installed my goty version of morrowind and im so excited to play like i normally am. so i get started and the first thing i do is try to bring up console command. I press the ~ key and nothing happens. i am sure this issue has been brought up before but i am unable to find any forums covering this issue. i have exhausted google about this too. has anyone ran into this issue? i have heard this is a laptop issue only. any help would be great.

Try Ctrl and Escape at the same time.

If that does not work, then the IR Receiver could be messing with things, the second post in this thread talks about how to disable that
