42 console commands?! Encrypted pak files?!

Post » Fri Sep 04, 2009 7:24 am

Seriously, why on EARTH would they remove almost ALL of the console commands?!

They are still in the engine, as you can see if you look in the console when the game is starting up (It sets some console variables that show up as 'unrecognized' if we try to enter them.)

Why would they remove all the deeper commands? We have been screwed over once again...

The demo had more console commands then this if you used command line switches. Now they are almost all locked.

I also heard on CryMod that the .pak files are encrypted.

So no modding and no tweaking. The worst part is that Crytek will never tell us why. They will NEVER TELL US WHY. [is there even a reason why? this is weird ****, i doubt microsoft paid them to remove pc customization]

We are constantly kept in the dark, and the best answers we get are simply "It hasn't been announced yet". Well announce it you dummies! YOU are the CM team!

They will probably milk us for a few map packs like Activison is doing with the COD series. Then later on release The editor so we can make our own maps. They are simply following the COD footsteps in almost EVERY way.

Ugh... This whole thing stinks of wasted potential.
