CONSOLE FRAMERATE IS UNACCEPTABLE

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 7:09 am

I am getting 15-25 fps on my console. Lets pretend its 20-30... Is this an acceptable playable frame rate? I can't change the sensitivity for my controller... Are you guys really pretending like your shooter game doesn't need any adjustments? everyone plays the exact same? Fully depending on VATS? what the [censored] is happening?

I am a loyal fan of this franchise and bethesda, I would like to play on PC but they will not give me a refund for xbox digital purchase. Would it not be as simple as removing the license from my account? Why is this a major hassle. I should be able to buy the game once and play it on whatever platform I want.

AM I THE ONLY ONE FRUSTRATED BY ( A ) THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS GAME ON CONSOLES (what the [censored] microsoft, why does your console svck and what the [censored] bethesda you had HOW LONG to optimize for consoles??) AND ( B ) THE ARCHAIC [censored] RESTRICTIONS ON OUR CONTENT???

I am on the Xbox one and I adjust the sensitivity in the options section.

For me the FPS is steady and fluid. I do not know if it 30 FPS but as long as it feels steady and no screen tearing than I am happy. I believe I have only played for about 6 hours.

I dunno man. I'm playing without any patches and the only drop of framerate I noticed was when I was exiting the cryogenic freeze pod in the vault.
But then again that's really the last thing I've been worrying about

I was experiencing the same issues with digital Xbox, but they did in fact give me a refund.

I went to the Xbox website and did a text chat until they refunded my money.

I got on my Xbox to uninstall and it asked if I owned the game, as I had already been refunded.

I'm now installing it on Steam.

How would you even know this?

I'd like to know, because I haven't seen any issues. With the first use of Power Armor and taking out the Deathclaw, and considering all the Raiders about, I didn't see any issue on the XBox One.

Where are you at where you're seeing issues? I'll keep an eye out when I get there.

Framerate is unplayable at times, usually downtown boston an during a gunfight. Very frustrating.

i dont call the game unplayable at all on either of the versions i own (xbox one and ps4)

my xbox one version has been smooth.

but then i dont run around blasting things like some call of duty kiddie whos just inhaled 4kilos of sugar.

i certainly cant take anyone quoting exact framerates seriously, seeing as they cant measure them.

I'm talking about just walking around downtown Boston, gun holstered, not even sprinting. Still getting very low framerate and stutter.

I've seen a few posts like this and I'm also wondering what the issue could be. I got my game on launch day and there was a patch downloaded for it, not sure for what, but there was. I haven't noticed any frame rate issues, although I don't have a monitor app looking at it either. I'm on Xbox and the only issues I've had are with certain mission being glitched and I've also been hard kicked to the dashboard twice. You probably answered this below, but how are you monitoring your frame rate? Are you online while playing? You would think this would have no bearing at all on our individual ISP's and their performance, but one never knows.

I have an external HDD and running Fallout on it. No frame rate issues, although I was worried at first after hearing all the complaints.

I don't think that matters in the least, although alot of people are saying it does. I've got 20 hours in the game and haven't noticed any frame rate issues, but again, I don't have a way to monitor it either. I've had missions where there's been a ton of enemies and I'm running for my life, with my companion, still no issues. Not sure if I'm just lucky or what. However, it shouldn't matter whether you're running around or not. I believe you when you say you're having a problem, but what's hard to wrap my head around is we all have the same game, we all are playing on the latest patch Bethesda sent out (mine was on launch day), so I'm assuming we all have the same exact software load. The only component that could be different are the consoles we're playing on. What I mean is the condition of the consoles we're playing on and whether or not there's a software or hardware issue with them. If you're using an external HDD that isn't approved for Xbox or PS that could be an issue. If you're running on a degraded box that could be an issue. I know that by calling MS or PS support they can login to your system to determine hardware/software issues pretty easily.

The only other game I have the exact same issue as you with Fallout 4 is with MGSV. That thing grinds to a halt every 1--15 minutes then corrects itself. I've contacted MS and Konami to no avail. Its very frustrating.

Apparently if you install it to a seperate hard drive (on consoles not pc) then it will be able to load up information faster and thus vastly reduce if not get rid of the slow down in framerate. Im on xbox one and have it installed on my external hdd and have never experienced any drops in frame rate at all.

Strange. My save file says i've been playing for over 24 hours and in that time I haven't have any framerate issues.

I've had the occasional split second stutter but no frame rate issues

I forgot to mention I only receive performance issues after pl?aying from the morning till late at night typically. Makes sense as there seems to be some heat coming out of the top vent during and after gameplay, after exiting the game it can take a few for it to cool. I also run the game on a external 1TB USB3.0 7200RPM Toshiba HDD. It only seems to happen in those city ruins as well as only happening after playing a large period of time in one go.

Way to lump all Xbox users in one group. Read below where I've pointed out that I have over 30 hours in the game and have had NO frame rate issues. I've had 2 instances where my screen froze and got dumped back to the dashboard, but no drop in frame rate. Not I'm not connected to anything that monitors my frame rate but I can tell when the game slows down or not.

The game is amazing, and yes, on Xbox One, with the only issues I'm having are centered on individual missions not being able to progress. Note: I've gotten around these as well, so there's been nothing that has caused me to quit playing or carelessly say the game is flawed when it is not.

This really hasn't even helped much, even with the game downloaded onto a Samsung 850 Pro SSD. Still experiencing game breaking dips in frame rate, can't even aim my gun at all.

I think some of you aren't keen enough to notice it. I only get large drops in frame rate while in the denser city areas, but sometimes I can tell it's going below 20 fps. I generally stay out of the city just to avoid it, but it's getting pretty frustrating. Bethesda needs to address these issuss and atleast admit their existence and what what they're planning on doing to fix them.
