Console patch?

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 6:10 pm

When will there be a console patch? I see there already have been a few for the PC, plus PC players can mod. We are full of bugs and glitches, both on Xbox and PS. When will there be a console patch please?

Console patches have to go through testing and approval by MS & Sony before full release. Just have to wait a bit longer.

Thanks for the answer, and yes I already know this. It'd be nice to have an approximate ETA.

I have to be the luckiest guy in the wasteland I guess.

I'm running a PS4 and I haven't had a single hiccup.

I haven't had a single crash, lockup, frame rate drop, or bug show up.

I'm not saying people are not experiencing these problems and that they don't exist, but I am curious as to how frequently these bugs and other anomalies show up and how severe they are.

I've yet to be able to play all the add-on packs for Fallout 3 on my PS3 and I guess I never will. It was inundated with frame rate drop, lockups, bugs, my characters getting stuck, objects falling through the world, people and animals randomly flying 5,000 feet in the air for no reason.

Those were the things that got to me and I haven't seen any of that at all in Fallout 4 and I've got close to a 80 hours in it already.

I mentioned this in another thread, but perhaps it's a PS4 heat related problem some people are having? Consoles getting too hot can cause all kinds of funky problems. I bought a docking station for my PS4 when I got it that has two big fans in it. You set the PS4 on it vertically and all the heat gets blown out the top vents and so far the fan in my PS4 hasn't kicked in to high speed once.

I sure would love to see Fallout 3 ported (and fixed) to the PS4 with all the graphics and troublefree gameplay that I'm experiencing with Fallout 4. I'd gladly give $60 bucks for that. What happened with Fallout 3 was not right no matter how you look at it in my opinion. I don't care if I would have had to take a ball peen hammer to the disc and lie to amazon and say it came that way and I wanted my money back, if Fallout 4 was even remotely close to behaving the way Fallout 3 did, I would have got my money back one way or another. Period.

Not meant as condescension (just in case).

I'm on console too.

MS are usually quicker with their verifications than Sony. I'd expect it to hit by Monday.

Where can we get that specific docking station? And how much was it?

How does one give an "approximate" ESTIMATED time of arrival?

The pc patches are only for pc problems right now like fixing driver issues, consoles dont need to update past 1.01 until there is a console related patch such as fixing quests or changing something within the world. Those newer patches wont change anything on consoles so they don't even bother releasing them on consoles.

I'm quite happy without a patch so far, no crashes and only minor glitches which are mainly fixed by saving the game and loading it again......the only real problem I have is with the settlement system which (as I have mentioned elsewhere) is counting every settler at the Red Rocket as two settlers. I confirmed this when a new settler arrived and it jumped from four to six (i've all three in scribe armour so I can identify them easily), aside from that all of my settlements seem to have little luck in attracting settlers although this could be because I'm not doing the right thing to attract them since there is no point in the game where it tells you how to attract settlers beyond build a beacon.

Hey

Same here. I'm on the PS4 and have had no issues what so ever. Except the bug where I couldn't get Tina as a Settler after I had passed the speech check. But, other than that it has been great so far!

I feel bad for those of you who have had issues though.. :ahhh:

I haven't hit a multitude of bugs and glitches, like what happened to me with DA:I for example, but there are a few that, from what I've read online, are common bugs cross-platform, and I presume these "big" bugs will be fixed soon-ish. Seeing as some patches are out for the PCs already, I am wondering if there are any plans for console patches and when these will be out. I'm not one to start yelling and screaming about how my world has ended because I hit a game snag. But having some bad previous experience with Skyrim, I'm rather skeptical about the availability of console patches.

My major issue at the moment is that Preston Garvey is bugged as a companion and I'm afraid I won't be able to continue with the Minutemen questline. I know this is a cross-platform bug and it hasn't been fixed for any platform yet. So, just asking. It'd be nice to have an update.

"We will be releasing a PS4 and Xbox One patch sometime in December". Just an example.

I could say the ETA would be 545PM. I could approximate by saying somewhere between 530PM and 6PM.

Haven't seen anything on Xbox really besides the elevator thing. Then I realized I hadn't gotten the day one patch and has been smooth sailing since.

I got mine on Amazon at the same time I ordered the PS4 and Fallout 4.

It's made by Zacro. It's $21.99 + shipping unless you have an Amazon Prime account or add something to bring your order up to $35.

http://www.amazon.com/Zacro-Vertical-Playstation-DualShock-Controllers/dp/B015XC3B46/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1447906417&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=ps4+cooling&psc=1 to it on Amazon.

It is a bit noisy. There are 2 good sized fans underneath of it blowing up. I have it in my living room behind my TV about 10 feet away and I can just barely hear the fans but if it was next to me it would annoy me.

There are several of them out there.

I do too. Normally I'm in that camp and I was fully expecting to be pulling my hair out with this release but I swear, I haven't had a single thing go wrong. Maybe the console God's have taken pitty upon me. :)

A prime example of my bad luck is Red Dead Redemption. I played all the way through on my PS3 fatboy and it suddenly died one day. I even found the mythical Unicorn and Chupacabra! It never worked again after that. I installed it on two other PS3 slimboys and even bought 3 copies of the game because their stock answer was, "Disc must be scratched. No problem here.". To this day I can't play it yet other people playing it on slimboy's have no problems at all. I would get a few minutes in to the game and my horse would fall through the world in to what looked like a map grid of some sort and my PS3 would lock up. 2 different PS3's and 3 different discs. I spent a small fortune trying to play that game. LOL!

I have had a few 1-2 second framedrops on ps4 but that is it. (And for some reason the worst framedrops I had where in a couple of elevators where the framerate dropped to 20ish, which didn't make much sense as nothing was going on at the time)

This is by far the best experience I have ever had with a bathesda game as far as bugs go. When Oblivion came out I couldn't even play it for the first few months because the framerate was like a damn slideshow and the game would crash constantly.

as interesting as that docking station looks, there are practical ways to keep your console from overheating.

This is what i do.

  • Keep it open to air flow, instead of tucked away inside a cubby hole found in entertainment centers covered in other items like dvds, papers ect..( Dont blanket your console)
  • Use a can of air regularly to remove any dust forming around the console.
  • Maintain an electronic freindly room temperature
  • *for extra airflow use spaces at the corners to lift the console off the desk, table ect (This helps heat dissipate)

Never had any heating issues and i have 2 360's, and xbox one and Ps4

Anyone know if Sony and Microsoft still charge for every patch?

Sadly it is one of the reasons why many developers haven't patched their games properly in several years.

They have had to pay to fix their games.
