Console Sensitivity

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 4:19 pm

I'm sure I couldn't be the only one concerned about this.

The console sensitivity for me plays a major role in how much I like the game. Personally, I like to move fast, aim fast, and even die fast. I'm worried that this game might have a little too slow of sensitivity limits for me. (Hopefully not as slow as Halo. Even max is too slow on there.)
(Not worried about PC sensitivity, I'm sure that will be fine.)

Does anyone else have any concerns of sensitivity or any ideas on how fast it is already?
I've seen a few videos, and I've payed attention to it. Personally, the videos I've seen have had it way too low.

Also, poll: Do you want slow (Like Halo) or fast (like Call of Duty) sensitivity limits?

You can customize sensitivity totally by the sounds of it, even to the detail of having a dead-spot.

I like to have mine around 75%, enough movement to spin around wildly but enough precision to make those long, drawn-out shots.

Same here I need to put it high, 70-80, but I'm used to putting it up now, one of the first things I do is go to the options.

I hate it when people work their way up to a SUPER high sensitivity and go nuts with LMG hip fire, totally defeats the game. I just hope you can not customize controls to the point where you actually become a God, moving faster than any mortal man ever could.

If you have played halo reach, then I think that is a perfect example for sensitivity, not to fast and not too slow even with it cranked to 100%.

See, you're end the exact opposite end of the spectrum as I.

I believe that Halo: Reach's is much, much too low for a competitive FPS to do well. It simply limits the reaction time for players, giving players who practice less of an advantage.

Apart of the problem with high sensitivity is that it leaves casual players wondering how that guy that just killed them turned around in one frame, sometimes to fast is to fast, Brink is trying to dray players into the online experience not drive them away. As a practiced player I think I have enough of an advantage already.

Exactly, well done.

I tried high sensitivity on CoD when I used to play it (like a 7) and when I aimed at a player my sights flew right past him. I was always at a 3 though and was perfectly fine with it. Depending on Brink's sensitivity differences between each number and how I handle the gameplay will determine what mine should be though.

It takes time to get used to when I played that game I was on 10, but I'm really hoping they don't do the high sensitivity stuff like cod.

Why not? There will still be low ( >6 ) sensitivity ranges, and I see no reason why there shouldn't be an 'insane' option for those of us who dislike sluggish console movement but are too twitchy for accurate mouse control.

You can customize sensitivity

Also, if there's someone who has you in their sights, you spin around slightly faster.

A scale like CoD is fine. I play with a high setting IIRC, but it doesn't give you that much of anadvantage. with thumbsticks it's more a tradeoff of hipfire accuracy for sensitivity.

Tbh, in FPS games, your tactics in moving around the map keep you alive longer than a high controller sensitivity.

I usually play on Normal. Anything higher usually make me fail at doing anything and then getting dizzy bout a half an hour of using it.

Pyrishima basicly said it already, but I also wanted to say: It's really not for the better if super-trained competitive players have a major advantage over casual gamers, because it tears apart the gaming community as a whole.

Also I guess as you're talking Halo, you own an XBox 360. Now on the PS3, the basic sensitivity is much higher by gamepad-default. Perhaps you should give that a try. :)
