ps3: pros: free online, discs can store and be read better, great community, better playing on games.
CONS: games freeze, online connection isnt as good as xbox, ALOT of loading time in games compared to x box, if you leave in your disc it can scratched but not as much as if you leave it in for x box

Xbox: pros: fast strong online connection, easy message sending, better FbF and resolution, bigger controller
CONS: costly online (heard its goin to $80 a year), discs can get jacked up, community of noobs, boosters, cheap tricks, and lebowski's, RROD even in newer model there is a thing were the xbox turns on and then just shuts down.

Not so much when playing on a console though. I'm still far from great, but I manage myself usually a whole lot better, god knows why.

Because there is aim-assit and a game will (usually) run at 60fps, unlike on a moderate pc.

I own a 360, and I prefer it offer PS3, mainly for the online and I hate the PS3 controllers.

I was on the same boat before I played a little more on PS3. The controller's hardware is superb, but the design isn't as handy as the XBox ones'.

Without getting into too much of a console war here, I'll put in my into as I own a 360, PS3, I'll leave out my PC because you ruled that out already.

PS3 - Without a doubt this system beats the 360 in hardware. And if you are going to be mainly playing offline and single player the PS3 will not disappoint. But when it comes to online, You get what you pay for. Very little people play with microphones and games are often way more laggy then their 360 counterparts. If you are looking to spend most of your time online and don't care much for the blueray. Then don't get this system, You will just end up unsatisfied and frustrated.

360 - The 260 is still a powerful system just not as much as the PS3. The single player games are still very playable and are fun, They just don't look as good as the PS3. But in the same case as the PS3, You get what you pay for. The online support and connectivity is worlds better on the 360. Much more people have microphones and contrary to what a lot of people say, Its not entirely filled with Preteens and jerks. I've found it easy to separate myself from said players and it did not take long to find a group of players that were mature and fun to play with. If you looking to spend a lot of time playing online, The 360 will do you better in the end.

Other things to consider -
*I find the 360 controller more comfortable with shooters. They layout tends to do me better than on the PS3. There are companies making 360 styled controllers for the PS3 though.
*The facts about Single Vs Multi for the consoles are not unknown by game devs. More single player devs shoot for the PS3 market and most multiplayer devs shoot for the 360 market.
*If you have the money, Having both consoles if very much worth it. Doing so will give you the best of both worlds and I have not regretted it and use both consoles often.

My overall opinion is that the 360 is the better option if your just going for one if your going to be playing online at all. If you just plan on playing single player and having an awesome Bluray player to boot, Then the PS3 might be a better option.

If only they could merge the two together , but then the world would end because sony and microsoft cannot work together , but anyways

The ps3 doesnt have many players with mics, you will find the odd player who has it, ussaly when playing cod nazi zombies the good players ussaly have mics or if there with there freinds.

Only point of having a mic on is if others have it that arnt 10 year olds with annoying voices sayin f*** every sentence, your freinds, or if the game needs somone to coordinate and your in the position of power.

Im a little upset Ps3 isnt getting a lot of liking here. But its ok i can understand where people are coming from.

Im a Ps3 owner and i love it, I dont get many problems with it, plus the online part is free which really isnt that bad depending on your router and all that tech stuff.
The graphics are also amazing plus its a blu-ray player so thats a bonus to.

Oh and in a previous post about the controller preferense, you can buy an xbox layout controller for your ps3 if you wanted to.

Im not going to sit here and trying and convince you the 360 is the greatest system of our time, because that is just asking for a flame war. And i will not get svcked into this 'console war' either. I will say right now, i like PS3 its a good console, it has its good and bad traits, as does the Xbox 360, but in which category you judge them is what helps make your choice for buying a game. For example, im not going to sit here and say Xbox 360 is WAY better for playing high quality movies, because that is a fight i will never win, because clearly the PS3 is the superior of the two, in that category, but we are not talking about movies, were talking about what the console was made for. The games.

Because Brink is a going to be a multi-platform game, it will be ridiculous to argue that the 360 has better graphics or the PS3 has better graphics, because i can name many occasions where a multi-platform game looks better on PS3, or vice versa. The graphics of multi-platform games are so minuscule compared across different consoles that its all just preference. (ie. the PS3 version is brighter, or the 360 has better shading etc). So i believe even mentioning how good the graphics are on either console, is ridiculous. We all know the best graphically looking games are exclusive games (I know of many exclusive games on the PS3 that are far more superior to those on the 360 even). Period. You can not deny that. So to mention that PS3 has Blu-ray is redundant and is not applicable to this situation due to the fact that Brink is cross platform.

With the monthly price of Xbox live costing approximately $8.99 a month, but only costing roughly $60 a year (If im not mistaken). As Capt. Awesome Man had stated. You get what you pay for. This is can be argued both ways which console has the better online, but in my true honest opinion i believe the 360 has better quality online services (exclusive DLC, patches, updates etc)

I have owned my Xbox 360 for over 2 1/2 years now. My Xbox has indeed gotten the RROD (Red Ring of Death) and i did have to send it in for repairs. That was within 6 months of initially buying it. Now it has been approximately 2 years now and not a problem since. I personally have not seen/heard/read about any problems of the the new Xbox 360 S getting the RROD (Technically it is physically impossible for the new model, because Microsoft removed the red LED lights from the console, if this means the RROD is fixed, i dont honestly know, but it makes you think).

In conclusion if your looking to get a console not just for gaming, but for things like watching movies, or browsing the internet, go with the PS3. But if your trying to go with a console that you just want to play games on, and you can spring for an extra $60 a YEAR, then i suggest going with the Xbox 360.

Hope this helps!

Also, to anyone wanting to respond to my message, go right ahead, but if your trying to convince me why the PS3 is superior, your wasting your time, this is all just my opinion. Only comments i will respond to will be those wishing for clarification on any of the information i have listed above.

Thanks :)
