We console users need more freaking options!

Post » Wed Mar 18, 2009 6:36 am

Well seeing how console users such as myself can't mod or download mods we need a hell of a lot more options at least after we beat the game such as unlimited companions or something like super mutants roaming all of the wasteland seeing how there only found in a few places. seriously i miss fighting the mutant bastards and am bored of finding them in the exact same places as well as all the enemies anyways not going into anymore specifics am pretty sure a lot of console users can agree with me about having very limited options.Am not saying we should get everything PC modders get but something cool to stir up the game and to make it different

Modding is not safe for consoles. Any small issue in coding that loads extra files that can be controlled on the computer can be exploited. Anyone heard of Things such as SmashStack or Twilight Hack for the wii? Each of those are exploits that will use that. I think they might be afraid someone will find a way (And they always do) To perform something against the console.

Super mutants all over the place? But Super Mutants in the West are no longer mass produced, the ones we see are all remnants of the Masters army and the accident at Mariposa with Enclave slaves. It'd make no sense for the game to make it Super Mutant wasteland. Honestly, I started the series with F3, and playing F:NV, I can't say I've thought, '-sigh- I miss fighting super mutants'.

I agree that us console users need more options. The PC has all kinds of mods you can get and they even have the G.E.C.K. I mean come on! Why are the PC users all treated like Kings and Gods and the PS3 and Xbox360 users treated like unwanted peasants. And FYI I'm not console bashing so don't even try to say i am. I'm just stating a fact. Point is not everyone has a good enough computer to run Fallout New Vegas. keep in mind that if they did put stuff like that on xbox360 Microsoft would do what they do best and screw us over by having us pay for it.

I am a console user because i can't afford a good gaming pc, but have to disagree that the pc users are treated like gods. We consoles users (xbox only for a stupid reason) get dlc's and such that pc users don't get.

It would be nice with a small DLC called The Cheatbox which has a bunch of different mods in it for us to try out.
But honestly, the only mods I want is a level 25 cap and one that makes the wasteland more of a challenge without breaking it's lore.

I always say for the money you pay for a console, spend it on a graphics card instead & you'll be set to play on PC. We need more PC gamers in the world of lucrative console dealers.

Oddly it's very strange with so many issues with mostly TES and FO bethesda games able to be solved with a click of the heels console command.
Such as getting stuck between things, invincible ghouls ( a cross between the two mayhaps. ) or simple bugged quests.

They should at least have made commodes on console such as the TGM or TCL functions.

Sorry guys. Ditch the consoles, get a PC. That's the only way you're getting mods. Those companies will never allow any unauthorized software on their consoles. The best chance you have is a compilation made by Obsidian/Bethesda and certificated by Microsoft or Sony. And that's hard to come by. I can only remember one instance of this. Can't remember which game.

I have mods on my xbox

No you don't. You probably have stat alterations and maybe even some retextures, but neither console has the resources to run a major mod - and that's not something you can hack around, it's a hard limitation.

Even if the gods smiled upon console users, and provided the manpower to find, test, and convert mods, convinced microsoft to allow it, and (if it's truly a miracle) to charge reasonable amounts for it rather than £3 for a new gun, what can be done is seriously limited.

That's the benefit of mods, they don't have to make sense. Here am i running around with anime hairstyle, the chinese Stealth Armor's improved prototype, an italian SPAS-12 shotgun and a russian SVD Dragunov sniper rifle, while being able to scan detailed information about enemies and snipe him trough a bush with infrared vision :D

Have i ever mentioned how i love the modding community? And my condolences to console users.

that's one of the very reason why i only stick to pc when gaming, aside multimedia and editing CS5, i can have a game at hand in two clicks, have internet, carry my work anywhere, i don't have to insert any disc i want to play or stack a pile of cd's beside the tv. and the modding makes the pc users have endless replay value, let's face it, rpg's like fallout 3 and new vegas are enticing games that after playing vanilla you want more out of it, and want more by the looks of it. you just can't let i go. and that is what pc users has.

It sounds like you really want to not do console gaming and that what you really want to do is PC gaming. That's what you're describing. That's what you get with PC gaming: mods and options.

The purpose of a gaming console is so that EVERYONE that has a console game has the EXACT SAME GAME as everyone else. So no mods. You do not get more super mutants unless ALL get more super mutants. And that costs money in the console world.

Well... We don't need the mods really, what we need is options.
Have the option to cap the level at 20, 25 or 30.
Have the option of picking 3 traits or maybe even 4.
Have the option of getting more companions than one humanoid and one misc.
Have the option to upgrade the enemies equipment so that the game becomes more challenging.

Yknow, options.
We don't really "need" mods.
I just want to be able to custom tailor the game with more options.
It's doable, and won't break any rules or anything.

You want a game other than what you're given - you want mods. Sure, everything could be implemented in the game in a huge list of options, but that'll never, ever happen.

Thus, you want mods.

You realize it's gonna be an endless list right? Everyone will want something. And in my experience, game developers either cover all demands or none at all.

It's sad, really, that we can tailor the game into anything and play with it for 2-to-10 years without spending an extra dime; while all you guys have as new stuff is DLCs. But that's what you agreed for when you bought the console.
