Do consoles have mod editors?

Like that tech demo we saw months ago, is it like forge in Halo 3? Or is modding just for PC?

How are you supposed to do all that with just a sixaxis controller? Good luck on that. But it could be like that WYSIWYP thingy on the Cryengine 3 demo. Maybe the levels made on PC could work for all versions on the Cryengine 3 or the console versions could come with keyboard and mouse support.

Yeah they do, Jurassic Rage was a UT2004 mod that went to UT3 and they released for PC and both the PS3 and the xbox360.

OMG Im sick of these threads!

Consoles WILL NOT have an editor! End of story! The current editor is just too complicated and demanding to run on consoles. Unless Xbox + Ps3 get quad cores, 4gb ram and GT200-series cards before Crysis 2 is released, then NO.

Also, how would you do anything in it? Sandbox 3 is a VERY advanced editor, that basically doesn't work without half of its features (database, ToD, etc.) You simply couldn't do it on a six-axis controller.

When pigs fly or lose weight. Then its only a 50% chance of editor.

I'm pretty sure that mods will not be made or work for consoles.

My guess would be no, since consoles don't have the capacities the PC has. You can upgrade your PC to make it run better, but consoles won't get any better in performance, and Cryengine 3 to me is the most advanced engine out there, so no, don't expect an editor, unless you're porting it from PC to Xbox360/PS3, like they did in the trailer.
The consoles won't have a built-in editor, but if you have a pc, you can somehow link them together (I don't have a console so I don't know how, I'm guessing some kind of USB) and work on the PC, and get it synchronized to the console.
That's the LiveCreate technology, only available if you're a developer and have purchased CryEngine.

Unfortunately, this won't be available to us.

As for sandbox editor, we don't have any details about it coming to console, we know though, that if Crysis had it, then it will be a 95% possibility we'll be getting it for PC.

technically youre right (there will most certainly be no editor on consoles).
but the way youre going about it is just pathetic and ignorant, you keep saying "six axis controller" - six axis is just the worthless motion control gimmick sony included in their ps3 controllers. but you knew that didnt you.
then you say consoles cant RUN the editor which is also ****. you can run sandbox 2 with a pc that is too weak for crysis. so i would assume you could run sandbox 3 with a pc that is strong enough for crysis 2 (a console, duh). the only problem is the interface, the entire control scheme / chain of menus would have to be reorganized. far cry 2 had an editor on consoles and the maps console users made were in no way inferior to the ones made by pc users (where the whole thing looked pretty much like sandbox 1). the SOLE reason why crysis 2 will not have an editor on consoles is: crytek expects spectacular sales anyway, they dont need to make the extra effort.

Modding on consoles? Are you insane?

You console players all ask for casual playstyles in Crysis 2 and Crytek rush to your call and make the changes you want, leaving us PC users with a casual game which we don't want at all. Now you ask for modding on consoles? No.

Can you Imagine the casual console players using the Sandbox Editor? The majority (about 90%) of console players aren't intelligent enough to play the classic Power Struggle mode (hence why Crysis 2 will only feature basic casual-friendly modes like Capture the Flag and Team Deatmatch), so how do you think that they will be able to do a single thing in the Sanbox Editor?

Or, contrary to the thread title, is it a basic map editor you are asking about? Halo 3's Forge mode and Far Cry 2's map editor are both so simplified that they can in no way be classed as 'mod editors'.
Even then, these types of editor are still too advanced for most console players, so they aren't a worthwhile investment for any game developers.
