Hello everyone,

I was wandering for while, that this small village is little bit mysterious. When you came here for the first time, it looks much like other villages (Riverwood, Ivasrtead), but if you take a closer look, you can find some pretty strange things.

This village is prosspering very well and people seems to have no troubles nor worries, what is more, they keep talking about their good harvest. Rorikstead is named by Rorik, it's mayor, breton living in Skyrim. Rorik can be found around and also you can find small girl asking him if he can show her some new magic. Because I play a "cloak and dagger" style character, I've discovered that in every house in Rorikstead, can be found filled soulgem! And in local Inn, under the bar, you can find book about daedra.

Could it mean, that citizens of Rorikstead are serving to some daedric princ? Please tell me some opinions about it.

Beth could have made it Skyrim's Hackdirt......that would gave been fun in a creepy kinda way.

Good investigative work, pterodaktyl! Unfortunately, I never discovered their secret and, as far as I remember, nobody else in these forums has either. The mystery may be destined for the ages...

explains at least ONE thing around the place (lund's hut, precisely)

but I guess this is fan made mode isn't it? I mean like, it could be fine, but I was looking for more "official" lore about this

I think that one of two possibilities is the answer.

1. Rorikstead is designed to be a "teaser", meaning iot has every appearanceo f being a quest lead in, but is only meant to titillate the suspicious mind of the roleplaying adventurer.

2. There was originally a quest planned for Rorikstead, but it was never actually completed or implemented and the idea was cancelled.

yep, that's a mod. tries to synthesize as many of the countless oddities around lund's hut into one backstory. lore friendly, but no way "official".

about official lore:

my personal impression is, a lot of things didn't really get finished there

and one more thing i recently learned that i can tell you is: rorikstead is NOT identical with the "Old Rorikstead" from the "ragnar the red" song

why? well I personally prefer uesp.net, but there is also nothing about this rorikstead-thing

I think in all likelihood it was added as something of a red herring and it's specifically mentioned in the Skyrim intro to bait the hook for that red herring; getting people to timesink there to discover....nothing!
