I am constantly amazed...

Ah, nostalgia's not what it used to be!

I remember the days when "downloading" meant typing in the Basic code from source printed in a magazine. My first mod was rewriting part of one of those in assembler for better performance and more visual effects.

I love mods too. :D

Without them I would have lost interest in Morrowind, and Oblivion long ago.
My thanks to the community came in the form of content I created, and released.
Being an older guy myself I can remember when Pong was released, and although in my younger years played more arcade games than console/ computer. I am glad a friend bought me a copy of Morrowind for my laptop during an injury I had back in 2004.
I remember being amazed at the graphics, scope of the world, and non-liner game play.
Then the re-amazement when i discovered I could mod that game.

Yes, Thank you to all the tireless modders that create fantastic content for us all to enjoy, and to Bethesda for having the insight to create their game in a moddable configuration (now that was a smart business move).

The first computer game I played was XCOM on an amiga... excellent game, very hard.

I experianced my first TES game when my brother had a copy of morrowind on his Xbox, and he hadn't played it yet, so we sat down and gave the game a try, I got hooked straight away. Once I found out there was a PC version, that could be modded no less, I saved up my cash till I could get the GOTY edition. Spent probably 60% of the time downloading and tweaking mods, and putting together little mods of my own.

Was a little dissapointed with some aspects of oblivion until the great modding community developed the changes and fixes I desired =D

Hopefuly Beth will look at whats been done with Oblivion, and develope an even better game when they get around to TES 5.
( And realy, they should take a note from morrowind, and port from PC to Xbox, not the other way around X_x )

I honestly think that TES modding has revolutionized the gaming medium. It allows for all players to have a hand in creating their own world through these amazing pieces of art: mods. It's a really a special thing, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to enjoy it with such a great community. :D

I used to start threads like this in the Morrowind forum all the time. Then I would go post it in the general forum, and usually get harassed about how TES didn't need mods. HA! Kudos to Bethesda for giving us a good starting-point and a CS. This game, like Morrowind, wouldn't be much, without mods. For freedom and immersion, modded TES is the only way to go, and, in my opinion, the best single-player gaming experience ever.

This is also the best gaming/modding community I've ever been a part of, or seen for that matter. It's amazing how active the mod forums are, and how little trolling or hostility there is.

Of course, we're not shooting at each other online either, which surely fans the flames sometimes...
