Constistant crash

Post » Mon Dec 28, 2009 9:28 am

When I am in Salida del Sol and activate the "door to Salida del Sol House" I crash to desktop. It says New Vegas has stopped responding and crashes. I have tried it several times in a row and it crashes every time right when I activate the door.
-Well I have discovered that I can not leave Salida del Sol at all. No matter what cell I try to enter the game crashes. I cannot leave. Can anyone tell me what I can do to fix this?

I have this exact same problem. I can't leave the area at all since I got God/Dog to the switches. :(

Same as far as trying door to "solida del sol house". Have even added FNV and FNVlauncher to DEP.

I haven't even gotten to the place. I installed Dead Money and in my file I'm in the Brotherhood bunker. I try to go through a door, it crashes. I waited for the message to come up confirming that Dead Money is ready and that "you've found a radio signal" all that jazz. I save after that message comes up...it crashes instantly. Anytime I load the game its an instant crash. WHAT THE HELL!

right click on new vegas in Steam games list. and click properties then click local files then click validate local cache. That should solve it.

Same problem here. Since I placed Dog/God and the ghoul at their places, I crash whatever "door" I try to zone through with the girl.

Tried restarting steam, validating files, upgraded drivers, reinstalling...

Im not alone in this either, two friends crash at the same point in the story, seems there is a serious bug somewhere on the DM side of things.

Same here. I think they released this DLC too soon. I even installed the update last week and I still crash. Bummer.

I have same crash at same place... anyone found a solution?

I've tried after numerous re-starts and with different settings and still get the same crash as I go through the door.

OK, I just worked my way through this, not entirely sure which element actually made the difference, but they are all fairly quick and simple to do...

1. Check your graphics card drivers are up-to-date, I re-installed mine for good measure.
2. Defrag game files within Steam
3. Verify game cache within Steam
4. Close and Relaunch Steam
5. Restart FNV
6. Remove clothes! (Seriously, I read this worked for someone in a similar situation on another thread)
7. Walk on through the door...

:banghead:

Having passed this crash, about an hour further in, whilst trying to get to the bell tower, as you go through the gate into the courtyard; same crash!!!

Anyone know if there's a patch for this flawed DLC on the way?

Similar solution to previous work-through...

1. Verify game cache within Steam
2. Close and Relaunch Steam
3. Restart FNV
4. Un-equip all armour/clothes and your weapon
7. Walk on through the gate...

I hope there aren't many more of these...

Thanks for this info, removing the armor fixed the crash for me, wouldn't never figured this out by myself :)
