Construction mode, rotate object like during loading screen.

Hello.

So, with mouse and keyboard, when in construction mode you can only rotate the object with mouse1 & 2 or "f" & "g".

And imho, its another completely stupid stting directly ported from gamepad.

Because with a gamepad you use trigger left & right, meaning you have a good control over the object rotation speed, so rotation angle.

But with keys / mouse buttom you CANT do that.

Imho for a PC GAME, we should just be able to rotate the object like we do during the loading scree : mouse 1 ( or whatever other key that we SHOULD BE ABLE TO CONFIGURE ) and move the mouse to have a good control over rotation, so angle.

Was the first thing I thought when I started using the modular building. I've been used to playing games like DayZ mod and the like which have the same mouse rotation like the loading screens. Also if you hold down a specified key it would rotate the objects in 45° increments. In addition, we need to be able to toggle snap on and off and be able to clip other objects in the environment.

Extra thought: Make the objects you're placing slightly transparent. This goes a long way when trying to align objects on a non-snapping object.

Agreed, I found it extremely annoying. That combined with the inability to turn off snap.

Oh, what would I not give for the ability to input angles and height etc instead of having to rotate using the mouse or keys.

At least you can go up and down with mouse wheel and shift but snap on/off would be usufull as well. Don't know which mod I'll be happiest to see one that tweaks construction or a bloody backpack :P

If you hold down"E" the rotation speed ramps down to about half, it also locks the player in place and allows the mouse wheel to move objects up and down the Z Axis but you still can not drop obects center below ground.

that's good to know for the "e" key, but that's still a very stupid gamepad setting... need rotation like in the loading screen :(
