Construction Set Crashes on Certain Action

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 6:55 pm

I have a problem that means everytime I do this certain action the construction set crashes. Here's what I do:
I go to Character -> Quests and create a new quest then I fill in the info and then click on the topics tab, I right click in the left column and select New and choose GREETINGS and press ok. I then right-click in the info and choose new and then it crashes.

Its really annoying as it means I can't make any quests of my own, I tried it on my sisters computer and it worked fine, could it be because I have Windows 7 (she only has Windows XP)

Any help would be great, thanks.

Sounds like the Vista/Windows 7 dialogue crash I was just ranting about yesterday! Try pluggin in a microphone and see if that fixes it. If your computer's sound recording is set up like mine, Windows basically disables the recording input when there is no mic plugged in, and when you go to edit dialogue, the CS checks for a sound recording input and when it doesn't find one it (stupidly) crashes. I know it can be frustrating and discouraging to try and figure this one out on your own.

Just plug in a mic and then load up the CS again and see if that works. :)

Glad you solved your problem.

I just hope the Bethesda developers take note of just how often this problem comes up in the forums.

I mean it's been a few times that I've noticed in the last week or 2, not exactly a flood, but then again, the Construction Set forum doesn't seem to be ablaze with posts or answers to questions either. :whistling:
