[WIP] Continent of Yesterbreeze

Post » Tue Jul 13, 2010 10:46 am

I guess the ID of trees in this screenshot is original one. that will benefit from any tree replacer mod, such as vality's billboard trees and vurt's new animated AA trees.
http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd41/Regaez/Yesterbreeze/MGEScreenshot034.jpg

Actually, the trees in that screenshot are in fact Vality's billboard trees from his Ascadian Isles mod. They are under a different ID, so will not be replaced by a tree replacer mod.

@Illuminiel: It's not a dragon, just a scaled up, retextured (I think) Cliff Racer. It is one of the Racer Flights Cliff Racers which provide transport around Yesterbreeze. Basically Yesterbreeze's alternative to Silt Striders. :P And in the first of those screenshots I think what you are referring to is a bird from Abot's "Where Are All The Birds Going?" mod. :D

@SGMonkey: Thanks. It is really quite motivating to know you've inspired someone to create things after viewing your own work. I hope that future progress on this mod will be just as inspiring.

More updates! I've finally got enough time to spend some modding and I'm getting a fair bit of work done. Woohoo! :D

I've now finished the streets of Togurn, and the countryside immediately around it (including fine-detailing) and now am working on a couple of interiors to give myself a refreshing change of work and also to help Cullanna get them done. After that I shall resume exterior work and extend the detailed landscape further out from Togurn. Anyhow, here are a bunch of new screenshots for your viewing pleasure:

good idea for the cloth hang on the rope, but that's too high, how to get it back to hands?

see the new flower, good.

suggest put two couple of guards near the feet of town gate and on the wall.

the forge shot looks like you forget leave a entrance into the fence.

nice shot Inlet1.

comment about a old screenshot:

that "3" shape creature shouldn't been seen in shoal water, if i think it right, it's a sea creature.

look forward to more......

good luck.

More updates again!

I'm really enjoying it at the moment. I've got time that I can put into modding, and am really pleased with the modding that I'm getting done. I'm loving the results, and it's really motivating and inspiring me to mod more. I'm getting a good few cells done every couple of days, which is great progress for me. And I'll try and keep you guys updated as I go along, so you will hopefully get a whole bunch of more screenshots over the next couple of weeks before I start getting busy in RL again.

Anyway, about my progress. Well, I've started landscaping a bit further out from the countryside immediately around Togurn, and I've gone in the south/west direction towards the bottom of the continent, where the terrain becomes swampland. So, here a a few screenshots of a swampy lagoon I worked on for 4-5 hours last night and is now pretty much complete. I'm really pleased with how it turned out detailing-wise, though the weather wasn't quite right in-game so they don't exactly convey the atmosphere that I was aiming for in these screenshots, but I'm going to change the weather percentages so it matches what I envisioned.

Enjoy! :P

Edit: I've also got news that another couple of interiors in Togurn have been completed by Cullanna since the last updated. So I will try and get a screenshot or two of some of those in the coming updates.

Again totally awesome. I think it looks better than some of vanilla MW landscapes, so maybe Bethesda should hire you ;). Cool to hear that you enjoy this work, maybe the breaks you take are good for motivation. Keep it up!

Okay, now today for an update I thought I'd release another trailer to highlight the area of Togurn, and nearby countryside. So, without further ado, I give you the second trailer for Yesterbreeze:

And if that's not enough for you, here a few more screenshots of recent development:

The Continent of Yesterbreeze has its own magnificent atmosphere which is definately a seperate entity from Vvardenfell.

Keep up the great work and progress.:goodjob:

You got the drying idea on your own or you've seen some of my pics? :P

I'm so glad to see this getting done, I'm watching this since it's start! It's also nice to have MGE so that your work can be shown in even more beautiful aspect. You could, if you find time, reshoot some of the old areas, in MGE version now, just an advice. :)

Thank you. I'm certainly trying to make my caves and dungeons much better and more atmospheric than MW's, because in my opinion MW's caves were awful. So to hear from someone that I'm achieving that goal is very pleasing indeed.

That is also pleasing to hear, as I have definitely tried to create that atmosphere as I've been modding. And I shall to try and create as I continue modding.

Thank you for your support Chaka. I think that is actually a rather good idea, as looking through most of the screenshots on the first page, I see that they are very outdated and most of them were taken on my old laptop, without MGE. I shall have a quick squizz in-game later today and take a bunch new old screenshots to replace those outdated ones, although it may take some time to upload them all as my upload speed svcks.

Oh, and no, I didn't get the idea from any of your screens. I thought of it myself. And those clothes have actually been hanging on those lines since Febuary 2008 - I even posted about it in the old thread. I'm surprised how long ago I did that - it doesn't seem like 2 years ago... sheesh, where's all this time going?

this is true :) - have faith.

One quick question - reading up some posts about MGE - this mod isnt goign to require MGE is it? I cant use MGE and would be sad if i couldnt use this mod due to that one point :(

Great work as always Regaez. I really like how Togurn has turned out specifically.

And to answer that PM you sent me a while back, yes. I will continue work on finishing up the remaining 22 unwritten misc. quests. I will post around 1 to 3 new misc. quests this weekend.

This mod is much older than MGE, I honestly doubt it would be dependent now. Besides, if he'd made it that way, I think he'd mention it at some point. Hopefully it isn't. :P

just letting you know that even though im working on my own warrior princess clothing. i have not abandoned this project either. i still have all the screen shots and notes from my last run threw and test of it. when your ready for it or if you need any help let me know. if you need anything dont hesitate to ask. thats what i signed onfor after all. take care

as for the TR conflict question. i would say by the time the TR team reaches the west side then yes it will conflict at some point. with MGE installed i can see the continent of yeterbreeze from the ship as i disembark after char creation. but honestly most every thing off the coast at some point or another will conflict from what ive seen of the proposed TR map

Hey guys!

Lately I've been working on the swamps some more, so I've got a few more screenshots of swamps for you today. The area shown in the screenshots is yet to be MGE "grassified" (as I call it) but for those you who don't use MGE rendered grass, this is sort of detailing it will look like for you.
