Continued Lag Issues AFTER Update

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:28 pm

The long approval process of microsoft is not an excuse and should not be used as a scapegoat. The game should not have been released in its current state, period.
I should not have to wait for a patch to play a game that i paid $70 for, any argument to the contrary is just ridiculous.

Exactly. This is starting to happen more in the game industry and it's not ok.

I can understand you thinking that perhaps some of us are a lil impatient.....IF it were some of us.
But go to the Brink Hardware and Software Issues Subforums > Xbox 360 Forums, and scroll through and you will see so many people with lag issues, texture issues, freezing issues, just to name a few.

I can see if it were just a small fraction of people experiencing the problem, but a large majority out numbering the very few experiencing no lag is a big problem.

I do hope they get this fixed and everyone gets to enjoy a great game, but for now, you cant help but feel disappointment in both the Developers and Publishers of this title.

I can honestly tell you that I'm 100% satisfied with this game. As well as 6 other friends who picked it up. We get on every night, and I promise you, after this update we have not ran into any lagging issues. I always see people I don't know playing the game perfectly fine as well. Apparently the number of people playing when I'm on completely surpass the amount that complain on this forum. I think you went a little overboard selling your game, and probably will regret it once all the issues get fixed..

I'm extremely anxious to see what future DLC they pump out, especially the one that is being released in June!

If no-one replies or we don't have an announcement by the end of the day, mines getting traded in. I might pick it up second hand cheap at a later date.

No point in me having a broken game sitting around that can't played, when I can trade it in for LA Noire and pay only £5.

sigh now im having second thoughts on buying the game now hopefully they will fix this soon

No No No... Don't be put off... This game is REALLY good when it's working.
:D

Don't worry, every game released these days starts off like this, it's not great, but hey, when we want a game NOW and they can just patch problems? We did this to our selves.

A few weeks maybe and the game will be fixed, we'll love it and start complaining that something else is broken or un balanced. :D

So get this game, or if you need to, wait a few weeks. but it IS a fantastic game. :D

And still nobody from Bethesda or Splash Damage can be bothered to at least tell us when the patch is coming. Cheers for the support to those that have supported you

I'm extremely happy for you and your friends, I really men that, cause I really hope they fix this game, cause I too think it will be a great game.
But every game I jump into has the worst lag. Every game I jump into and talk to the other public players are experiencing the worst lag.
Countless threads and posts have been posted all experiencing the same problem.

I had to sell it, if they dont announce that a fix is on the way, then why keep it.

Here is the impression I am getting as I'm sure others feel the same way.
They put out a soft patch limiting the players in game. And that's it.

Here's one other reason to think about when deciding to keep it and hope they get it fixed, or trade/sell........
Gamestores after Friday will be reducing the trade in value from $23 t0 $18. That tells me alot of people are trying to dump this off their hands.

I bet this is one of those games that in a month you will be able to buy new for $19.99

In this economy, you have to make the most of your gaming budget and invest in the games you know you will enjoy and that will work same day release.
You cant spend $64 on a game, take it home, and not play it until a month or so down the line waiting for a patch.
Thats money wasted.

(I know I said I sold the game, but I am monitoring this thread as well as any updates on game fixes, cause if the game does get fixed and the developers respond then I will very much consider rebuying the game)

Should've played with me then. Apparently I have incredible luck. I played again last night till 7 this morning with my new Operative (Sick as [censored] btw..) and had no lagging issues.

I think SD sending out that temporary fix was more than enough to tell me that they're working on the issue. I'm sorry, but they needed a quick fix TEMPORARILY, and that's what they did. It was very effective on my end. I'm looking forward to seeing a full patch to fix maybe not only fix the internet but the graphic issues people are complaining about (which I don't see as well..) (Which may also be the reason why it's taking longer.)

Hobbling the number of players of an intended 8v8 game down to 4v4 isn't a fix, it's a lazy band-aid.

The game has been out for over a week now and I still can't play it online without rubber-banding all over the place in every game I join.

At this point I'm rapidly approaching the point of just trying to return the damn thing to Amazon and wash my hands of the whole experience.

Trading this game in because of lag.Tried everything from logging in and out and resetting router and direct connecting.Just gonna wait till proven games come out and have no hope for something new.I call this game Homeflop 2.They promised to fix the lag and nothing.I think these companies just get our money and run.I will never be fooled again...

i got still lag... not that bad like other people say (sometimes more/sometimes less). i noticed that there is a lag when the game starts and sometimes when other players join the match...
but i'm really disappointed because the game makes my xbox freeze and freeze and freeze again... and i don't think that it's very good for the xbox (by the the way... i remember fallout 3 - it made my xbox freeze too & it was from Bethesda Softworks too. think about it!)

anyway... i will not sell brink yet because i really like it. i hope they will be able to fix all these problems as soon as possable...

you guys do realize that for the xbox they have to wait about 2 weeks for microsoft to approve the update? that is after they finish it and send it to them for approval. since they have already released another patch for the pc, my guess is that the xbox and ps3 versions are in the testing/approval process.

some people still dont seem to understand that there was only one real update. the other was just a tweak to the matchmaking to reduce the problem for some people. it did not make your non-laggy games suddenly laggy. no game code changed with the second "update".

I've seen certification for updates for $15 Xbox Live games take a few days. Besides, if the problem IS fixed and the patch IS in certification, tell people about it.

Certification is no excuse.

How about an update... Like "we have sent the patch to Microsoft for approval of the update, our comitment to the comunity includes keeping our valued customers updated during our attempt at correcting the issues that everyone is experiencing .", Just wondering....

I'm going out today to trade the game in on LA Noire - at least I'll get something back for this total fail of a game.

I just bought the game, first two Freeplay sessions went by with relatively minor lag (next to none), but after those two the lag has been unbearable, I'm still trying to play, constantly trying out servers to no avail.
The lag is like 2 to 5 seconds delay all the time so it's impossible to play like this, if it even were just 1 second delay all the time I could still play it (I have played laggy games before) but when it takes 4 seconds to iron sight then it's unplayable.

So I have this problem, post patch (Haven't played pre-patch as it arrived today.).
Seems like a very very fun and interesting game but until you patch it it's not really playable online.

Well, I'm very sorry (truly) Bethesda and Splash Damage.
14 of my community members played (at least tried) on Sunday. I have been trying to talk many out of trading it in, but with no real communication from yourselves a week on, every single one of them is trading in for LA Noire in the morning.

You haven't even been able to show enough respect by saying what actually is going on, for that I'm a bit annoyed. I'm sad to say that I will be trading it in as well. the best you have managed is "we are actively looking into it"
I have 'actively' been trying to convince people to hang in and see what happens.

I will check in tomorrow morning to see if anything has been announced, if it has I will keep mine. But if true that Splash damage are asking for evidence :bonk: and it appears you don't give a toss.....it seems unlikely.

Cheers for nothing.
