Continued Lag Issues AFTER Update

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:34 pm

Bethesda / Splash Damage, have responded with two statements concerning lag issues and an Update please see: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1188625-an-update-on-brink/

To further inform developers, I created a topic for Lag that STILL exists AFTER the UPDATE mentioned in the link above.

I played today, I mean I tried to play today, Freeplay, both Standard and Big Game, and the Lag after this supposed update was no different then that before the update.

I did play a Competitive Freeplay, and there was very little lag.

We played Public Campain with a friend and there wasnt any lag.

I am still hopeful that Splash Damage will continue working out the lag issues, and I'm glad they have responded to the first reports of lag
But this thread is for letting them know, after today's Update, the Lag still exists. If you are still experiencing lag issues, please posts letting the developers know
the Lag AFTER the UPDATE is still effecting gameplay.

I still am from time to time. My last match I literally couldn't even move, and most the time my character would just slide from place to place. Couldn't even crouch or Zoom..

That and 2 more matches before it were kind've screwing us way over. I think I know who in the room was causing most the lag, but when you go to "Vote to Kick" or whatever, it doesn't even work? IDK.

I tried, I had to leave eventually...

Played Campaign earlier though, and it was amazing. Actually got to play with other Human teammates, but only vs AI ( sad face ). Still all fun though, plus I got the Tough as nails Achievement today because of no lag in Campaign.

But, yes occassionally I'll have a match or two that'll just be straight terrible. But most my games today were good. (Most being Campaign, lawls)

Thought there might be a post for this somewhere. Yes I'm still experiencing lag issues on the Xbox 360 as well, it's definitely not my fault though, I'm able to play other online games just fine (i.e Call of Duty, Gears of War, Battlefield BC2.), perhaps an actual patch to address the netcode is in order rather than doing a quick fix by fiddling with the amount of players?

Indeed I have been lagging since the game released and I am still lagging in every game I join, and it is sunday the 15th. I believe that if you are host u don't lag but others do... so host wins no matter what, only solution is to go to dedicated servers... as If you don't have the money to pay for them... laf. Charging 60$ for a multiplayer game and not having dedicated servers is [censored]. Get with the program or lose customers.

To e honest ... i can live with some lag when i join a game... it should balance itself out after a couple... but the lag on the graphics is killing me . It takes about 4 sec to load the graphics of the enemy im shooting .. by then ive either killed him or he killed me... most of the time i just see a blocky enemy with a red silouette around it...nothing else...

There are vid out there showing the graphic lag,,,
http://www.gameblurb.net/featured/versus-brink-video-and-screenshot-comparison/
please fix it before any DLC..

Still Having Lag here as well. And OMG I can't wait for a patch... the friendly AI is miserably STUPID! And Turrets/Mines are USELESS!!

Kill enemy guarding an area > Set up Turret and mines > Enemy Zergs around corner and throws 5 grenades > Turret blows up > Try to kill enemy > Hosed by sheer numbers > Friendly computer Teammates like lambs to the slaughter offering no help whatsoever as they attempt to take secondary objectives > Enemy steps on mine and gets back up and revives friend.

Rinse Repeat.

Lag...terrible. Resorted to co op play which means relying on dumb ass bots. I love the ones that you find standing in a corner sometimes, twitching, trying to figure out if they want to stay there and pretend they are doing something important, or run into battle and get killed again :)

What bothers me the most is playing on hard and being triple health buffed w/ kevlar and some bot whips around and kills me with ONE SHOT. From like 50 yds away. With a shotty! Argh.

Also watched some vids on the 'Features' section of the web---wow...the mission/objective wheel was much cooler, and the graphics/colors, especially sun and shadows were amazing. This Brink looks NOTHING like the preview vids. I feel disappointed and ripped off. Shame -- the game has such potential

Had almost the same incident lastnight (first sentence). I had an AI Engineer... I guess he was TRYING? to fix my Turret? All he kept on doing was literally dance around it. He just kept shaking and moving violently like he was trying to r@pe my turret or something, lmfaoo!! I even shot him with the MG Nest and he just kept on going complaining I was shooting him.

ALSO, I find A.I. from time to time as well, just literally STANDING there... just staring off into space? And the worst case this has happened was I was doing the "Escort Nacheyev" Free Play, we ONLY had 2 AI Medics, no other Medics. Whenever I would down and look around to see where they are, they not ONLY weren't even trying to get to me... BUT THEY WEREN'T EVEN MOVING? And MEDICS are the KEY to that Mission entirely.

So, I had to go Medic, got him literally to their spawn ramp, and couldn't get any further (I was the only one on my team, they had 3? humans). It was ridiculous, me becoming the OMA (One Man Army), allllll over again YAY! :D

I am glad to hear, this is still being monitored.
I actually listed my game on ebay today after being so frustrated. But I really do enjoy this game, and everything it's about. I would just love to play the game with friends as it is meant to be played.
After I had calmed down, and had taken a break from trying to play, I removed the ebay listing. For 1 thing, I had a friend ask me 2 days ago if it was worth getting cause he was choosing between L.A.Noire and this game, and I recommended this game. I think it would be [censored] to recommend the game we can play together and then say well I'm selling it.

Second, I really like the concept of the game and the MP teamwork. I really hope the devs, can fix this.

And to show I actually listed it on ebay and cancelled the selling it before anyone put a bid on it-
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320699875330

I will try and do s you suggest, and reboot the box.
But, I'm not giving up on this game!
This game is just a patch away from being an AWESOME GAME!!!

This is unacceptable! You would think that a game developed exclusively for multiplayer would support multiplayer matches. Now we get a half assed fix that shrinks the vs mode down to 4 vs 4? What the he'll is that? Fix your game splash damage! The shame of this is that it really would be a great game if these amateurs actually had some sort of beta testing. Get some dedicated servers or at least give lobby support. I am 100 percent sure that I can support 8 vs 8 but there is no way to ensure that I am the lobby host. Way to go guys! If they don't fix this they can be sure never to expect me to buy any of their lazy products again! And don't patronize me by telling me that you made a patch that fixes the issues. My god it feels like I have a bungie cord attached to me and the wall every time I enter any kind of competitive mode. By the time these losers give us their free dlc half of us will have already traded the game in for ten bucks at gamestop.

Signed out, restarted the console, signed in, did a little dance for luck and....POOF! STILL LAG! Not just less lag but the same issue I've experienced from day one. Fantastic game....absolutely love it! However, the mp is a horrible mess that I hope gets fixed soon. I'm not giving up on you folks just yet. Even though I feel as though I am a guy who paid 60 bucks for a game which has given me the official title of Brink Beta Tester I just love the game.

I also tried to do as suggested, restart the 360, sign in and and start up the game that is installed on my hdd. I jumped into a freeplay game and the game was lagging no different then before.
It was just unplayable bad.

Here is what I have noticed, and hope this helps in discovering what the problem is.

I started a Campaign Co-Op game where Friends and Invite can join session in progress. By myself I experienced no lag, 1 friend joined the game, no lag
2 more friends joined, no lag, 1 more friend joined and it began to lag.

The more online gamers there are, the more the game lags. I m running Roadrunner with the "high speed plus" Cable modem.

I agree as well, this game is a prime example of why there needs to be good beta testing (the PS3 closed European beta obviously wasn't enough) and why more and more games will be using dedicated servers. I also hope they continue make the rest of the DLC available for free because it would be pretty nervy of Splash Damage to expect us to invest any more money into their game after this...
