Controller for Windows overtakes Keyboard + Mouse

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 1:55 am

Hey guys

I have my 360 pad plugged into my PC so I can play some games with it without Keyboard + Mouse (Like racing games and whatnot). I also have a headset connected to my 360 pad to talk to my friends.

Fallout is a game I would play with my Keyboard + Mouse. However, whenever I play Fallout New Vegas, it won't let me use my keyboard at all; I have to use the 360 pad if it's connected. I don't want to play with my 360 pad, but it seems like I don't have a choice. Is there a way I can disable this while keeping the pad connected to my computer? I don't want to not talk to my friends online just to play Fallout.

Thanks.

Pull the battery out of the controller to turn it off. The KB/M functions will work right away. (I noticed this testing for someone yesterday.)

You should be able to just disable it in the Control setting, just navigate there with the controller, turn it off and the keyboard and mouse will be enabled.

You can disable the 360 controller right from the controller menu in Options.

And is there a way you can have both the controller and MKB working at the same time? I doubt this after messing around with it a little bit but maybe someone has a solution...I know borderlands can have both running at once.

Nope, not possible as far as I know. It's either or.

Which is really odd, because other games have no problem using both at the same time. For example, GTA4 has no issues, and neither does Dead Rising 2, but both of those are G4WL, and not Steam.
