Self-explanatory topic title, but does anyone have any good recommendations? I've finally decided to reload Morrowind onto my PC (runs better than I thought it would), but navigating with a mouse and the keyboard, well, blows. I've never liked it, which I suppose was why I mostly just played around with mods the last time I had Morrowind loaded on my desktop.

I've been a console gamer for many a year, but rarely have ever gamed on PC, so if anyone has a recommendation for a cheap but reliable (and simple) controller, fire away. I'm not looking for anything "uber 1337" or whatever, just something that I can get up and running with as little effort as I can.

There are many options for you, depending on what type of controller you like best. Gamepads come in all shapes and sizes, maybe check http://compactiongames.about.com/od/hardware/tp/gamepads.htm for some ideas.

Although, I recommend you just keep practicing with the Mouse/Keyboard. It does feel odd to begin with, after playing with a controller for so long, but soon you'll see that it is much more intuitive for first-person playing.

What Pluto says. Just practise with keyboard and mouse. It works better with it, as the game is actually designed for keyboard and mouse.
But if you're really desperate, then you can look for the Logitech Rumblepad II or one from Thrustmaster, like the T-wireless 3 in 1 rumble force.

A controller is easier on my wrists at this stage of the game, but I will give the fumbly keyboard and mouse combo a try. Hate to spend more money, but hate to aggravate the A-C joint and everything else any more than they already are.

Saitek Eclipse and Logitech G5. Love it!

I bought a wireless USB device that allows my xbox controller to work with my pc. The only problem was that I still had to use the keyboard to move/look around (I don't remember which, but I think it had to do with how the 'joystick' was configured), so it kind of made connecting the controller pointless. I'm sure there is a mod to correct this problem, but I just gave in and got used to using the keyboard. Give it some time, and it will become just as comfortable as using a controller.

Yeah, I had one controller a while ago that was very pointless and required the mouse for looking around.

If a controller can't do 99% of what the keyboard and mouse can, it's useless to even try.

Try turning up your mouse sensitivity. It will work a lot better than on the default.

I have a joypad that works pretty well. I never use it with Morrowind because I prefer the mouse and keyboard but I played around with it for fun and it seemed to work exactly how I wanted. I don't know what model it is but I think it's a Dilong brand, if that means anything. It looks like a playstation controller. I got it on ebay for like $6. It works well with other programs too. Couldn't get it to work with Fallout 3 though. I prefer the mouse and keyboard anyway, it's mostly a novelty to me.

ye.. get used to mouse and keyboard I'd say aswell... I mean I've always beena PC gamer so I have a hard time picturing it being weird.. but honestly it is far more accurate than a console controller
