Controllers compatibility?

Post » Mon Aug 31, 2015 4:57 pm

Hello!

Unfortunately my 360 controller (on pc) has gone, and I'm quite used to it for Skyrim. Now I'm trying to use a Logitec wireless controller, but it looks like the game doesn't get it at all. Is there any solution for my problem or should I just buy a new 360 controller?

Thank you!

Can you be more specific? What logitech are you using? Does the OS detect it? Can you calibrate it?

You'll have to install the driver if you haven't already, and then follow the instructions for your wireless to get it working with your PC. Sometimes there is a button you'll need to press on the receiver (it might be on the bottom of the receiver) while you do something else with your controller to get it started. I can remember when I first got a wireless, I got everything installed, but didn't fully read the instructions, so I missed the part about holding down that button. I mean, we're talking about me going mad for about 2 or 3 days, because I couldn't figure that part out, and most people in these forums don't use controllers. :ahhh:

You may also have to visit and register at http://www.Xpadder.com if you haven't already. There is a small fee to join and use the program which comes with this site, but in the long run it's worth it. This site has a long LONG list of different controllers (Microsoft, Mad Katz, Asus, etc.) that are on this site, I'm sure Logitech is also okay.

After you go through its walkthroughs (you can PM me if you have questions here) you'll have your controller working so well, it'll have more functions than the ones that come with Xboxes.

Thank you! My logitec controller instructions are missing, I'm still searching for them. For what I noticed, win 7 has installed the drivers correctly, but there is no programs installed di edit the interface between the controller and the games. That's strange!

Is your controller working after you start the game ???

If YES, you can edit your controller within your game. Under "Controls"

Set your controller to XInput -> http://gaming.logitech.com/assets/53542/f710-gaming-gamepad.jpg

Hello.

It is already set to x-input, with new batteries and all, but it really doesn't seem to work. Is there any other kind of check I could do?

Hmm, take a look here: http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Logitech-G-Controllers/Wireless-Gamepad-F710-Win7-64-Bit-No-Driver/td-p/529974

-----------

I have a wired F310 Logitech controller, but it works without doing anything.

Just connected to the usb port, Windows installed the drivers, and Skyrim is working right away on XInput. (DirectInput is for older games.)

Maybe the wireless controller needs some workaround.
