Controlling the number of hints in zone transitions?

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 3:11 pm

I appreciate the hints and tips that are shown during zone transitions, but I've been finding that I sometimes get about 30 of them (over several minutes) before I can play again. There does not appear to be any way to interrupt the hints and tips and get on with the game. If I was sarcastic, I'd say that if I wanted to read a book I'd buy a book...but I won't say that. Is this behavior configurable, or is it something that just keeps rolling until the new zone is ready to play? If it's the latter, then my real issue isn't the hints and tips, it's the amount of time it takes to get the zone ready to play.

Love the game, but will love it more if I can spend more of my time actually playing it.

Yeah the hints are up during load times. Once loading is complete, the hints end and the game resumes. Load times are 10000x better on PC compared to Xbox.

loading between different zones takes aprrox 10-15 seconds on my xbox slim after installing. I never get anymore than two hints per load screen.

I'm playing on a PC! Doesn't bode well for Xbox!
XP on a quad core with 4GB (of course XP doesn't see 4GB) and a somewhat inadequate video card. Game video settings fully dumbed down.

I maybe get through half of one.. I am assuming you are on a console? Or an older PC?

Nope...I'm playing on a PC that's about two years old: XP on a quad core with 4GB (of course XP doesn't see 4GB) and a somewhat inadequate video card. Game video settings fully dumbed down.

The Xbox HDD doesn't have a fast RPM rate, so yes this is normal, I can't see what the problem is really : / Bigger areas will obviously take longer to load up, that's just basic data booting.
