.45 conversion

Post » Sun Apr 04, 2010 2:57 pm

With all the iconic guns in this game (the 9mm .357 .44) why on earth did they go with that ugly sin of a gun the 10mm

well my very first mod is fixing this issue

Ive swapped all instances of the 10mm (pistol not machine gun atm) to the classic 1911 .45 (yes i cheated lol but hey it works)

this is still very much in the alpha stages im fixing all my molding as i go

so far every thing works (no crashes bla bla bla) but i need yalls help to find if issues come up (mainly being able to mod the gun with stuff the 10mm can be modded with that i did not modle out)

any way this is my first mod and i dont plan on it to be my last

uhhh lets see i dont know any other info you may need

oh something i need If you are good at molding and would like to help my conversion i am in desperate need of some one that can make a Thompson sub machine gun for me any way let me know

I Thought someone would feel the same way bout the .45 so i made a mod that replaces the 9mm (the 9mm is basicly the right nif just needed some tweeking in blender) with Big Boss's 1911 costom (player only the npc's still get the 9mm) from MGS: snake eater and replaced 9mm ammo with .45 acp. I also moded a M4 costom from MGS4 with optional in-game mods of surrpressor and scope everything is work perfectly except sometime they dont load in-game everthing looks fine in geck it saves, doesnt crash. just only loads the guns in-game maybe 85% of the time. thats y i havent uploaded it anyone no y

Uh you guys realize that the 9mm is a Browning Hi Power and NOT a 1911, right? It's the standard issue sidearm for the British military and one of the first double stack 9mms made. It's been around since WWII

I'm sorry im kinda new to modding fallout. I'm not sure what i have to do with this, what extracting program do you suggest? I'm using poweriso (not the best program) What i did was I took the 10mm-45 conversion file and put it into the data folder and then went to the data file thing on the fallout startup and turned it on. It says its on ingame but crashes when i go to click on it. What are the other files that came with the download? What do i do with those from the meshes folder? What are the .NIF files?

Sorry these are probably extremely basic questions but the only games i have modded before this is GTA IV which is completely different than Fallout.

the mesh folder i dont know the offical term for what it does but its basicly the model and skin for the gun so ya if you dont put that in your data folder it will crash cuse it wont know what the addon is talking about

ok just to make sure take that data.rar that you dl from the site and copy the data folder in the rar file then you will move the data folder to your fallout directory ( i know most of the time people tell you to put it in the data folder well i did this so its 1 less step you have to take)

it should work from that point unless you deleted somthing in the mesh file

I don't know why anyone would even want to use a 9mm. They really aren't that great. Regardless of what kind of weapon the 9mm pistol is, I think it should be replaced with the M1911, just for the sole fact that the 9mm replaced the .45 with the coming of NATO. SEE HOW THE 9MM LIKES IT! :P

I use it because I hate the look of the 10mm

I own and use a Colt 1911 .45 in Real Life, can't wait to use it in game too.
