Cooking Details?

Post » Thu Aug 19, 2010 12:55 am

Are there any details or onfo on the cooking part of the game? I would like to make something good and tasty! Maybe you could press a button to taste and the it would give a ''hint'' on what is missing to make it taste good? Ideas please!
Oh and maybe you could take the meat from different animals you kill and make some food out of it? If it is a magical animal you maybe could(with the right cooking skills) make a stew or something that gives you some sort of ability for some time? The rarer the animal the more expensive it will be for people to buy from you(when you sell it)
What do you think?

I think it's already confirmed, isn't it?

For me, like always, the more RP stuff is added, the better. I'd love to be able to go home and do some juicy venisom steaks to recover my strength after a long day of battling :)

P.D: The "Neccessities of Morrowind 3.0" mod comes to mind. Simple yet greatly-made mod. I'd be happy even with just that.

The have announced wider, and more complex crafting, so I'd expect that... Yeah, cooking falls under 'crafting' category.

if you can't combine every food item you find in the game into some kind of bizarre weaponized casserole i will be disappointed. actually no not really.

i do kind of hope the whole COOKING deal means Bethesda will implement portable camps/campfires. ever since i played through RDR i've totally fallen in love with the idea of not being able to save unless you're in an inn or a camp, and i could totally whip something like that into an ultra-manly quicksave-disabling mod called like "Immersive Saving" or something equally dumb and get INTERNET FAMOUS.

Todd Howard specifically said cooking was in there.

Cooking is confirmed. Although they haven't said of what it will all do, But hopefully we will be able to make more potent potion's with adding cooked food. :celebration:

I hope cooking will be all real-time, so it's not some kind of menu or mini-game.
Like... actually grab a garlic, throw it down a stew, etc, etc.
That would be awesome. A menu or mini-game would be destroy my hopes totally :(

Anyone have a good recipe for Argonian?

Apparently, the Bosmer have a rather unusual idea about what's on the menu after a fight.

Will there be virtual http://order.tupperware.com/coe/app/home in order to being able to place your cooked food in your pack and go adventuring? :D

(If not, there will be DEFINITELY a mod adding it. For sure)

As I understand it's not a skill so everybody can do it, some other crafting is also not skill based they might have perks associated with them but this is guessing.

Wonder if the food has some effect except the obvious restore stamina? a long time low level buff had made sense at least for the more advanced dishes.

Kill enemy, take skull and saw of the top, instant Tupperware the Skyrim style :)

Yes us Bosmers has less problem than the other getting meat, it's a racial perk like Altmer has more magic.

You do all realise that Bethesda made Fallout NV with cooking (to some degree) in the hardcoe mode........I dont think this will be any diffent to this.

I hope I am wrong but........well..........I'll love this game anyway :)

If someone can find that pic of concept art involving cooking from one of the GI videos, it will give you all an idea of how specific it works. It had meat from a cow or something like that, with like 8 different meat sections that you could cook from that one animal alone.
