I'd really like telekenisis sort of how Bioshock did it - in that you can catch projectiles coming at you out of the sky and send them back and you can also use it to retrieve items out of reach.

Elder Scrolls is desperate for a greater variety of area effect spells, and most of the schools of magic really need an overhaul. I mean Destruction was almost always "Shiny flying ball does x damage in x area for x time" and nothing else. We need more variety. Like "Summon swarm of flesh eating insects inside actors armor" and we also need better and more realized mental attack spells. We had them, sure, but nothing like a true cast horror on actor spell that makes an NPC run in terror from you, or spells that shake an NPC's resolve making them less effective in combat. It's way too bland casting spells that simple "drain x skill for x time".

(1) Spells that affect the terrain - Earthquake, Glyphs, large Area of Effect spells that linger, Clouds of Poisonous gas, Swarms of insects, Shock spells that have special effects on wet terrain etc.

(2) Spells that cause specialized knockdown effects - Push/Repel, Telekinesis Spells that hurl some sort of massive object at enemies (a la Telekinesis plasmid in Bioshock)

(3) Spells that can be chained together for unique effects (not just chaining weakness to magic, etc., but visible effects) - Petrify spells or Cold spells that freeze enemies in place for a chance to shatter with critical hit or some other spell, spells involving water and lightning, grease and fire,

(4) Unique Spells you only get from siding with certain factions - some difficult choices where you lose the opportunity to get the spell if you side with an opposing faction

Well I want to see the spell combinations they talked about in the mag.

Telekinesis Spells that hurl some sort of massive object at enemies

Well, the telekinesis plasmid isn't a good example lol. It was insane and awesome but just not TES. I think the bigger the object you pick up with telekinesis the quicker it drains your magicka. Also you can't affect living people with telekinesis, let's just say Arkay protects them like the protection from soul gems.

These spells from Naruto would be good. Like a pheonix flower, or a water dragon, or a giant frog lol.

Any of the Midas Magic spells would be gerat.

And I want to poly morph into any animal. It was great to run around oblivion as a doggy.

Gaseous form would be awesome. It could be used to bypass locked doors(those with keyholes) and make you impervious to physical damage, though you would not be able to inflict damage either.

Conjugation? This is like the third time I've seen someone call it that lmao. It would be sweet to summon like two minions at once. I would have a lich to my right and a xivilai to my left. Mess with me now!!!

Both of these are overpowered. (then you hear complaints about being -invincible.- Again.)

Yeah a push spell would be sick. like in KOTR the Force Push spell was so awesome! Maybe a drain life spell to?

Drain health spell. :shakehead:

I think an interesting spell would be something like shock, frost, and fire damage all at once.

I said it his idea sounded awesome, I didn't say that it should be added to the game <_<

Already do have this. I call it Twilight's Touch and it does 900 damage, 300 of each type of damage.

Let me guess what it does. It forces them to watch as all the Twilight movies flash before their eyes and they spontaneously combust from the horror. :chaos:

A few ideas from another games, but which I think might fit well:
* Acute Hearing - all character based sounds (speech, noises) increased in range, rest decreased.
* Vision Water - better visibility in water, removes wavy effects and tunnel vision etc.
* Vision Gas - better visibility is gases.
* Vision Animal - adjusts gamma curve.
* Vision Night - night vision goggles, replaces Night Eye.
* Vision Heat - makes anything living glow against background.
* Vision Expander - increases the field of view.
* Breathe Water
* Breathe Gas - important for gas traps and natural gases in some dungeons.
* Walk on Water
* Walk on Gas - i.e. gas caused by lava in a chasm, allows you to walk over instead of finding a passage.
* Sense Magic - weapons and clothes of foes will glow, indicating they are magic. Nice to know BEFORE the fight.
* Sense Life - senses life, even from behind cover.
* Sense Undead - senses undead, even from behind cover.
* Sense Divine - senses Dremore, Daedra etc, not of this world.
* Sense Destiny - Gives you an indication on where you need to go, based on quest. No more arrows! Effect decreases with closeness.
* Sense Trail - Where did your last opponent go if he ran away (no more fighting until death nonsense).
* Float - Makes it easier for you to swim in water and get air (breathe spells are high level). No more plated steel swims!
* Sink - Lure a foe into water and he will float less, probably sink to bottom and die.
* Resist Criticals - Against weapons that are designed heavily for causing critical hits.
* Maintain Soul - Resistance against soul trapping (for foes).
* Wall of (any material, elemental, poison, gas, dispell, effect in the game).
* Ring of (any material, elemental, poison, gas, dispell, effect in the game).
* Cage of (any material, elemental, poison, gas, dispell, effect in the game).
* Wall of (any material, elemental, poison, gas, dispell, effect in the game).
* Sphere of (any material in the game).
^------ Can be dispelled or bashed. Dispell effect means area where no magic will work!
* Mark of the protector - Prevents friendly fire accidents on companions.
* Transfer of the protector - Transfer item of choice to companion, and he might use it.
* Mark - Good old, good old...
* Recall - Good old, good old...

Not even half way, but got tired :P

There should be a spell to switch bodies with an opponent. You cast the spell, and your peripheral vision rushes into their head. Go around cleaving people inside somebody elses body , then switch back.

Or switch to their body, jump off a cliff, and switch back :D

The downside would be that the person you switch with can use your weapons/spells and any damage they take will be left on your body when you switch back.

Both of these are overpowered. (then you hear complaints about being -invincible.- Again.)

Don't be close-minded. Powerful types of spells could simply require a lot of skill in the given field, and consume magica. A pure-mage oriented character is usually fairly inept in melee combat, and their assortment of skills take longer to train in. Magic = Takes logner but pays off Melee = get proficient quick but less useful than magic at higher levels.

A spell of disorientation.

It would mess with the the person that it was casted ons mind causing them to to have hallucinogenic or "drunken" double vision making them do strange thing.

I've always wanted a spell that summons a sphere of water around the targets head, eventually causing them to drown (unless they're Argonian, or have an appropriate spell negating the effect).

I feel like Midas Magic may have done this, but I'm not sure. Also it could potentially cause some pretty serious balance issues, seeing as how you could kill most enemies with one spell using this.
I'm also not sure if this would fall under Destruction or Conjuration.

I would think conjuration or alteration.

I think a spell like that would have to be channeled constantly while in affect, and the victim would be able to attempt to interrupt your spell to cancel the affect, through some other kind of spell or a good blow or something. It would be kind of interesting, as the enemy would be fighting for their life trying to interrupt your spell while you are more or less choking the life out of them. Perhaps it would require constant line of sight or something? I suppose you could drown them with one hand while freezing them in place with the other. :shifty:

The best game to do telekinesis IMHO is Force Unleashed.

Maybe FU2 but I haven't played it hands on yet.
