Copied Oblivion Folder (with fcom)

Post » Tue Sep 20, 2011 2:21 pm

I had to change my laptop setup from windows only to dual boot windows and Fedora. I copied everything over from my bethesda folder and my My Games folder. When loading the game, it says "some resources are missing" yadayada. So, what else do I need to do? I'll try reinstalling Wyre Bash and rebuilding the patch first.

Most likely you're missing the registry settings. You may have to save that directory somewhere safe, reinstall from scratch, and then copy the saved folder back over top of the newly installed one.

there is only one reg key you need to get oblivion to work, bit nuts to reinstall it all for just that.

when i get home i will rip the key out of the reg for you. only thing is im running win7 64bit if your running a 32bit os the location in the registry will be different.

You need the Bethesda registry hive from your HKLM. You'll also need a folder that's buried in your userprofile\AppData. It's got a file with your load order in it IIRC.
