It won't run on my Xbox-360. The disk is all scratched up so I need to know what a disk killing scratch looks like. I'm going to be very pissed if I have to send it back because it came with the manual and map in perfect condition. Can anyone help?

Well, if you already know that it won't run on your Xbox, then I'd say those scratches are confirmed killers.

Most video game stores over a refurbish service. And it usually just costs a few dollars.
I've refurbished a few games/dvds before, and it has saved some discs.

I was afraid of that, I just bought some disk cleaner and it actually started up but stopped working right after the Bethesda screen.

Disk cleaners don't always work right. At least from what I've seen. I've never used one. You might want to check Gamestop for another copy. Those scratches might never be fixable. If there's too many, the disk is probably a dud now. I have a copy of the first Spyro game for the PS1 that I have had refurbished at so many different stores. Every attempt at making it work was for nothing. It will never work again.

When you go to a store a another copy, ask if you can look at the disk. Don't blindly buy it. I always ask if I can check the disk(s) when buying used games at stores. If you notice any scratches on it, ask them to also refurbish it if they can. Better safe than sorry. You might also have to get an original Xbox. I have a copy of Lunar 2 for the PS1, and it will not work on my PS3, but it will work on my PS2 with an odd method(I put in, say disk 2 and then swap for the correct disk quickly after the start up screen).

Tip on all things involving older games for older consoles: Have the last gen console on hand just in case.

Morrowind is also known to be harder to run on the 360, I think. If nothing works, you can find the PC version easily. The game can run on just about any PC as long as it isn't some oldy moldy one or a Mac. It's not too hard to find GOTY versions of the PC version in new condition still wrapped in plastic. You can get it off Steam, but having the disks around seems to be what you'd rather deal with.

Unfortunately I have a Mac, I bought it off of Amazon, and I never had an original Xbox. Though with the progress I've made so far, I think a refurbishing might make it run. Also I have the first three Spyro games and they all still run, fond memories.

Well, original Xboxes aren't too expensive, so if you have to end up getting one, no wallet holes will be found. Good luck. It always svcks when you have to go on a journey to make a game work.
