Copying dlc to harddrive?

Post » Fri Apr 01, 2011 11:47 pm

Is it possible to copy a dlc to a harddrive? I dont want to backup the whole system just one package of dlc?

Im thinking there must be a way to do this, is it possible to download the dlc straight to the harddrive maybe?

I think your out of luck on this one, if it was possible somebody would have posted a copy on the web and Beth would have lost a fortune. I'm not even sure that a full back up would work, I think you'll find it doesnt (no doubt someone will correct me if wrong) and that if anything happens to your system you have to download it from the store again. I cant remember how many times you can DL it without paying again but i've done Broken Steel 3 times (due to PS3 death and a further issue) so you shouldn't have an issue there.

Alas not, they're digitally signed. You change the DLC in any way, it won't load. Only possible modding on consoles is hex-editing your saves, and that's not modding at all.

The PS3 just got cracked big time allowing Linux and gameos to become good friends so  Phoshi is probably right tho about being digitally signed.

Hardly, the first layer of security was breached. There are many more.

I thought that if i could observe the code, i could recreate the digital sign as you call it, and then create something new with it.

It was just a thought tho.

Ah, no, the very concept of current digital security is based around signatures and certificates. If you break it, you won't be making FO3 mods for the PS3, you'll be a millionaire, very famous, and the most known security expert in the world.
