CopyrightIntellectual property issues in fanfiction?

Yeah I know, one of the more boring sounding threads imaginable. Its just that I used to write fiction and now I'm writing some Elder Scrolls stuff I wonder if I end up with a book sized story, could I publish it? I know it wouldn't even be the first elder scrolls book but how would I go about getting permission to use the elder scrolls universe in a narrative? Anyone have a clue?

I'd contact one of the Community Managers. If they don't know, they would know who you did need to contact to get an answer.

I would check, but I think you'd have to be commissioned officially by Bethesda in order to publish it. You could distribute it as open source, provided you give full credit to Bethesda for their universe, but I highly doubt you'd be allowed to reap any monetary rewards from it. Sorry :(

Yeah, without being hired by Bethesda. you probably won't ever be able to make money of TES fiction.

Anyone know how to kill this idea? Of getting a fan-fic published with Bethesda's consent? Because I have this terrible idea of writing a novel-sized story set in Pyandonea for some time, and I can't get rid of it.
