Corpses

I wonder where you put the items lol xD

They actually equip them after death. If you put armor in a body's inventory and come back later he is dressed in the best armor according to his skill. It might require a respawn of cell, but has surprised me a couple of times.
Rockmilk cave as a static body at a bedroll, it's a nice place to store loot and if you sneak in at night you might see that one of the bandit shares the bedroll with the body.

Bodies also dress in clothes if you loot their armor.

yes - you actually should do this, first for the obvious coolness of murdering horses. also, it is a form of discretion, so some unvarry wictim is passing by, stops and wonders 'Lords of Gunnungagappa, what is th-' and all of a sudden you 100-pound-daedric-warhammer him. and laugh out loud, sadistically.

SORRY - I made a terrible mistake: meant to write 'deception', not 'discretion'.

The rest of the post is fine, though.

In my brother's "stupid" team (where we do everything wrong just for the laughs), he killed Lucien Lachance and tried to stuff him in the closet of the Bravil house. Then my brother used him as a "storage corpse" for his potions ingredients. Since Lucien was naked, we figured everything just went in his underwear. But he's been there for awhile, so I guess Lucien doesn't disappear.

Yes, how very clever! LL is a perma corpse. If you trigger him to visit you in your home and kill him, you have just added another safe storage container to your house. I think I would leave him dressed and try to prop him into a chair though - - although stuffing him in a closet may be wise as well. :P

No, No! If LL is dead, he's supposed to be hung upside-down by his ankles! Anything else would just be disrespectful.

Oh noes! I now have a vision of LL hanging upside down in my character's Bravil house with his little black dress all bunched up around his neck. Not a pretty picture!

You can use perma corpses as containers huh? Hm. What if you put food on them? *shiver*
Anyways, I've always wanted an Assassin's Creed 2 style way of carrying a corpse.
It's quite annoying when all I can do is drag them around and therefore not move the body out of or into a building.

1. Well, you see, you, um, reverse pickpocket a frost damage hood of torture on the future permacorpse vic to kill them. That way, everything you put in their dead inventory stays frosty chilled!

2. I agree. I guess the best you can do is trigger the DB's attention, then go home to sleep in your bed. That way, LL can be a permacorpse conveniently located in your own home. Just stuff him in the closest or even prop him in the corner as a conversation piece.

With the command console, you can, of course invite those who are qualified to become permacorpses into your home before you, um, turn them into a new container. The command console can also ask a corpse to equip a frost damage hood so he can keep your favorite beverages nice and cold for you. :P

Don't NPCs loot dead bodies? Speaking of which, I've never understood why my house is never robbed if I don't lock it. It would only seem fair.

I always thought it looked more like checking for a pulse. Guards always do it, they bend down, stand up and say "This man's dead!" or whatever it is they say.

I agree that when a guard kneels to check a body, he is simply checking for a pusle and does not take anything.

When a Forester kills a deer and kneels by its body however, he absolutely does take the venison. That is the only time I have seen an NPC take something from a dead body.

I can just imagine what would happen if you invited a friend over ^_^

Me: Hey, want a beer?
Friend: Ok!
*opens cupboard and takes out the beer stored in LuLa's lungs*
Me: Here you go!
Friend: :dead:

Here's a question, do corpses that get reanimated disappear? If not, you could use the Staff of Worms to reanimate, say, Glarthir, and then have him follow you home for some extra storage (if you don't want to kill off LL).

Alternatively, if the corpses that are reanimated aren't permanant, it might be a solution to the problem of corpse overpopulation, which was the original issue. After all, they do get renamed Character's NPC...I just don't know if their permanency is affected by this too.

Sound like a good idea. I haven't tried verifying everything, but you could bring a corpse into a dungeon and not visit that dungeon for a few game days. Long enough so that dungeon cell resets itself and the corpse should disappear, in theory.

Dungeons themselves does not respawn, only the enemies and chest content, yes plants and some food on tables to but lots of clutter does not respawn.
If you pick up a sword from a bandit and drop it, it will stay, sometimes I have dropped heavy items before going deeper and found more stuff so I just left it and it's not gone even if the enemies has respawned.

However reanimating is a good idea to get them out of you house, or into it, nice to fill the cellar in the Anvil house with bodies.
Love the idea of stuffing somebody in the Bravil house closet.

I dressed up Lucien Lachance and stood him up in the corner of my room in Benirus Manor. Reminds me of Weekend at Burnie's.

Biggest blunder with a corpse? Not being able to take them through doorways. Now I can never become the serial killer I'm capable of being... :sadvaultboy:
