Corrupted Save Game File Causing Light Blooms?

Post » Mon Jul 12, 2010 8:28 pm

Hi all. I have experienced an issue where any dynamic lighting stays on screen, as if running in slow motion. Fires in fireplaces move slow-mo. Spell effects that wrap the character don't dissipate for over a minute. Flames thrown at other creatures do the same.

At first, I was thinking something had gone wrong on the hardware end of things (even tho this is a fairly new custom system). However, I soon realized the issue only occurs in my three most recent save files. Unfortunately, it's my Quicksave, my Autosave, and my last Save.

Is it possible for a corrupted save file to cause this? If so, is there any getting out of this loop or is the file unrecoverable?

Thx,
Kov

Unless I'm far off my mark, you are victim of the dreaded a-bomb. If on PC it's easily fixed via either a Wrye Bash option or stand-alone utility like OAF (Oblivion Animation Fixer). If on console....

Like what the last poster typed, Its that A-Bomb.
Here is a http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5127 to fix it.
That if you have a PC.
By any chance, did you pass 250 hours playing your character?

You can either use Wrye Bash or zBobGuy's http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5127 utility. They'll both repair the A-bomb.
