Could anyone explain this to me for god sake?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:44 pm

Okay, so Im on the internet for some time and for all that time I never got why the heck is some male dude who plays HC games watching frickin' my Little Ponny? I know it's not just 12 years (MALE!) kids watching them. Is this some kind of trolling(or being sarcastic) or being an internet [censored]? Explain to me why do you watch it or why would anyone do it, i just dont get it. Im not sayin' that when Im a guy I have to look hardcoe and stuff, but this? Why? Pwnies are invading this world.
(This is not a troll thread Im just suprised how this "meme" can work so much)

Watch it and you'll understand. Besides that, there are three and a half threads that discussed this exact topic. Go check it out if you're really that interested.

Oh yeah and, don't expect this thread to live for much longer. ;)

No, these threads are about watching that thing, not about talking WHY WOULD YOU WATCH IT.
+You have a chance to explain this to other people than me (Im not saying that someone is bad for some reason, automaticly as other people)

What I get from this post:

The mythical "Ponny People" are invading the land of hardcoe and threatening masculinity by harvesting manhoods at night.

SOUNDS GOOD

Then read it again cuz you totaly didn't get my post.Again. I am not judging anyone, IMO men don't have to be "HC". I am just interested in how can this "meme" work so good as I don't get it. What's the thing that makes men watch fluffy animals.

Who's the 'dude' you're referring to? I don't think anyone over the age of 8 actually watches it, do they?

Well, four threads worth of advlts, or at least teen and up were watching it and putting their friendships and magic rainbows all over the place. Look at some of the avatars. People were going fast. It was bad.

Simply i see many people with Ponny stuff on their Avatar/Sig and yes lots of them are actualy kids but some of them can show some valuable points to the topic, which from I am guesing they are not that young.

Oh well, it's probably just another jokey meme bandwagon that people will jump onto for a little while before the next one comes along.

Because quality entertainment has no age limit and people shouldn't be scared away from watching what they want or doing what they want by social peer pressure.

I don't watch MLP, but I understand the people that do. I frequently watch old Disney cartoons with my girlfriend, is there anything childish about that? Is there any reason I shouldn't do that other than some ridiculous idea that advlts are not supposed to enjoy the stuff they loved as kids?

Oh no you di'n't!

It doesn't matter who its aimed at, if its a good show - people will watch it. There was a thread here about it a few days ago, apparently the plot is surprisingly good and there is some good humour in there. Haven't watched it myself though.

The fact that you're still using hardcoe as if it's still a legitimate word, and not a word almost universally used by advlts to mock younger people who use it, tells me it'll be hard to explain to you why people can like the show even if they're advlts. But as Exorince said, if something is entertaining enough then at a certain age you'll be able to watch it without worrying if your friends will think you're less "hardcoe" for doing so.

Only real men watch MLP.:)

Because they do not question their masculinity. And its not half bad.

Also its an internet plague, and its hilarious to see reactions.

So when women gets muscles, tatoos, she will be wearing lots of Metal music stuff (There is a difference when she haves just a T shirt of her fav band and when she wears everything with it (I do prefer "harder" music FYI))
So it will make look her more masculine, she can be saying "I am enough feminine to wear this stuff" is that ok?
Now mentlegentlemen, let us get back to the topic.
Why do you like this show so much, whats that "thing" that makes it so awsum

I was wondering what all this MLP stuff was about. At first I thought it was just another atypical meme people were throwing around, but well... at least people are in touch with their inner child.

Why not? If that's what she enjoys, then by all means. That's the whole point. Why should it matter to anybody else what someone watches, listens to, or whatever. It's their business, not yours. Why would you (not specifically you, the collective you) want to push your ideas on what's right on other people?

Okey so when someone who likes that show shows up, he mostly gets trolled and stuff.
When I make a constructive topic, In which I would like to inform myself(and other ppls as well) before judging anyone I get these kind of answers.
Oh the society and internet...

I don't understand the problem. It is something they enjoy, so they made a thread about it. Like the people that enjoy creepy vids and stories made a thread about it. The only difference I see, is subject matter. Are the people in the creepy stuff thread cooler, or better because they like the more "evil" (for lack of a better word, I'm tired) content? I don't think so, even though that's the stuff I'm more into. But I posted more in the pony thread. Why? Because it was more fun. But they aren't any different because they like a cartoon. In my most humble opinion. Humbly speaking, of course.
