Could Mannimarco: King of Worms return?

Post » Sat Mar 29, 2014 12:16 pm

So when i played the Beta for ESO it got me a little hooked on the lore following Mannimarco. I was just curious if you guys think its possible for the King of Worms to make a return and possibly revive the Order of the Black Worm. I mean because of the "warp in the west" he was temporarily a god, not to mention a very skilled necromancer and liche. Could he rise from the dead, or perhaps be revived by a radical loyal follower (probably mer, cause of the time gap).

thoughts, opinions, heated debates... anything goes (maybe except for that last one)

I personally think it could happen

Mannimarco the God was not killed by a Playerborn in Oblivion, so He could return.

I've always thought the aftermath of the Warp in the West separated the demi-god from the mortal, so he became two separate entities. One was killed in Oblivion, and the other is happily in his own realm with no intent of going anywhere near Nirn again, not to mention not having a mortal body to use any more.

It's sort of like Sheogorath and Jyggalag. The player defeated one half, and the other continues, without it. In Mannimarco's case, the half with mundane ambitions is gone.

I think what Bradleyh is referring to is the non-sentient Mannimarco. Durring the Warp in the west Mannimarco ascended to God status but for some reason there was still a non sentient Mannimarco that continued his agenda on Nirn.

I was confused if both were killed or if the only one killed was the non-sentient one.

So what is your opinion on the second part of my question, would he revive the Order of the Black worm?

Mannimarco is pretty much as immortal as a Daedric Prince/Umaril these days. I assume he's attained some level of CHIM. Especially considering it's Molag Bal he calls master.

Thankfully, he is not as blessed/powerful as Umaril. His power seems to be more "other-wordly" then a direct imposing threat.[compared to invincible Umaril] Behind-the-scenes.

He's never going to die.

Mannimarco is currently chilling in orbit around Arkay. It's theorized that the Altmer we fought in the Oblivion questline was not the real King of Worms, as he was mortal and not a lich.

That was Mannimarco the king of worms, the mortal form that didn't get turned into a god from the warp in the west, Mannimarco the GOD of worms is still around as an sub-gradient.

That too.

Either way we probably didn't even fully kill the King of Worms. He has been defeated several times throughout history, even Galerion thought he killed Mannimarco yet we see the lich in Daggerfall and Oblivion. Entirely possible that he manages to be reborn or resurrected by necromancers and liches.

That's what you think.

In reality, you're stumbling around somewhere near Bruma after the Necromancers stunned you and shaved off your beard and 'stache, and you've deluded yourself into believing that you've killed him because the alternative is that you now look like a bald ape.

See, I can do inane statements too.

Galerion made the classical mistake of not checking for a lich's phylactery, and then was very surprised when the lich reappeared in his camp, fully rested and very annoyed.

It's possible so it's best to be prepared. When a messenger with a note pinned to its chest knocks on your door, you better act quickly for Mannimarco has returned and is up to his old tricks.
