could we maybe have dead bodys show in VATS?

Post » Sat Dec 12, 2015 1:32 am

as in a different color so is distinguishable? dont need to be selectable could just glow for example?

its just that i have had a few times where ive killed a bunch of dudes and have been unable to find all there bodies for looting now matter how hard i looked

and i was at abernathy farm the other day doing some stuff when i would here a couple of heavy machine gun turrets with a quick burst of RAT-A-TAT-A atleast 5 or 6 times and the setllers would wip their guns out but turrets took whatever was there out too quick for them to get a shot off.

i looked every where for no other reason than just wanted to see who/what was foolhardy enough to attack but couldnt find a single body

just wondering if would be a good idea if they did or would that would cause too many issues?

In VATs prob not, not only clunky game mechanics wise but some players will have it imposed when they prefer not, npregardless how it is differntiated. It adds more targets to cycle through.

However as a perk, sure - would like that idea. The mechanics are already in the game - e.g. scrapper 2 , with tagged resources glowing when containers are near enough. Could have a perk that does similar for dead bodies or just dead bodies that contain loot.

If you dont want it, see value, or dislike loot glow - perfect, dont take the perk. If you do, take the perk and use a point, maybe more for increasing range of detection. Win win.

The only players who will still say no to such a system are the ones that hate other players having a choice, despite that choice not being imposed on them. The VATs suggestion to be fair is an imposition, a voluntary perk that uses up you skill build points is a toggle essentially you opt into.

Maybe not in VATS. But there should definently be a way to find them. I cant tell you how many times I've taken out 2 or 3 raiders and cant find one of them to loot. Or how many bloatflies vanish after svcking a high power laser bolt. You can do some really nasty things with their glands. :)

i dont mean they are a target in vats just that they say glow, so you cant "select them": they are not in a target sequence just glow

could be an on/off option in settings

I definenetly think there needs to be some way to find the bodies in this game. I seem to remember having the same problem in FO:3 as well, not so much in NV because everything was much more sparse. But yes, it's a issue. Also Fallout 4 is the first game that doesn't show non hostile NPCS in your HUD. I guess this is so that you can be surprised by things like Mole Rats, Rad Scorpions, and Deathclaws. But yeah, kinda a pain.

I think that is silly. No vats should not find bodies. You may loose some. If they wanted to implement a way to find them, use dogmeat perhaps.

Maybe an infrared scope so you can see body heat. Works on recently dead as well as living bodies unless surrounded by too much heat like an explosion nearby or something. I do think if you tell dogmeat to find you something he might go to a body. I remember thinking, dumb dog I just killed him of course I know there's something there. But he might be useful if you can't find the body.

It would still be an imposition of your want and playstyle (mine too but just devil's advocate here). While very debateable how little or lot the imposition of seeing glowing bodies every time you use VATs may be, you are asking for ALL players to be affected.

A voluntary perk or just free toggle that simulates the existing mechanic for loot glow with scrapper 2 would be zero imposition.

Add it to VANS. It's a decent idea.

With Rex's Perk it would highlight dead bodies, as long as they had loot on them iirc. So someone would just need to replicate that.
