could Nerevar be in the game?

Post » Mon Sep 05, 2011 2:30 am

since Nerevar is a god and Vvardenfell is destroyed... could he have migrated to Skyrim? could we see Vivec? I think it would be cool to see Nerevar in skyrim..

Nerevar was a Chimer king about 4000 years ago, who was murdered by his consort and his best friend, her lover.

The protagonist of Morrowind is favored by Azura, fulfilled the prophecy of the Nerevarine but is no god at all.

the nerevarine being the reincarnation of nerevar it is highly doubtful, borderline impossible to see the character as it could be of any race, age, and gender.

The Nerevar the OP is referring to is the hero from Morrowind. I would say it's entirely possible to see him, but I doubt it for various reasons.

If I'm not mistaking Nerevar was some sort of king and not a God, but he was promised to be resurrected by Azura (or something). So I would presume that he would not make an appearance in Skyrim since this was all happening in Morrowind. This is presumed that I remember it all correctly of course :goodjob:

Both the Nerevar and Nerevarine were not Gods, so no very doubtful.

Ima say NO. There are so many factors against it. The Nerevarine can be of any race or gender and may be dead, despite the apparent godhood. He/she isn't necessarily important anymore. We've also NEVER seen a previous game's hero in a successive game.

From what we heard in Oblivion (s)he's in Akavir. We never found out how that expedition went. Might've died or stayed there.

Yeah I mean the hero from Morrowind who we played as. It would not be a lore breaking occurence. It would make sense for him to be overseeing the dunmer who migrated there.. and to oversee the troubles of the civil war there.

Also the nerevarine is a Dunmer in canonical terms.

While I admit it would be cool to see the Nevarine in Skyrim, I don't think that it would be possible.

In some of the Lore from Oblivion, and from talking to certain Dunmer refugee/workers in Cyrodiil, the Nevarine went off to Akavir after the events of Morrowind. He/she has never been heard from since.

Now having some DLC that allows you to go to Atmora or have some kind of dealing with the Nords there as well, that would be sweet.

What if the player played Nerevarine as a bad guy? I don't think (s)he'd care about migrating Dunmer and a civil war. Sorry, it ain't happening. There's too much against it, including the 206 year gap between Morrowind and Skyrim.

Outside of advertisemants, there is no canonical Nerevarine. Mine was Argonian.

I wouldn't make sense to directly see him in the game, since Nerevars appearance hasn't been established. Not to mention him being in Akavir during Oblivion, with no further mentions of him

While I am of the opinion that having a 'canon' Nerevarine would be nice, I have to ask, do you have a source for this?

Why would it make sense for him to be overseeing the Dunmer who fled Morrowind.? He had left Vvardenfell for Akavir before that occured.
Also source for the Nevarine being a Dunmer as canon? It makes most sense to many people for him to be so but nowhere have Bethesda published anything stating the Nevarine's race so it isn't canon.

^This.

There is no canon when it comes to the Nerevarine. That's just the way they marketed the game, same as the Imperial for Oblivion and the Nord for Skyrim. It has nothing to do with canon.

No, it's like saying the canon DB is a Nord; he's just going off of what was advertised.

nope, the neverarine can be young/old/male/female/mer/human/argonian/khajiit and no reference or evidence to the contrary exists, as well as there are no references to your supposed canon "dunmer male" in the games.

for you and others it might be, for everyone else it ain't.

I thought Nerevarine being a Dunmer was the reason why the ashlander tribes took you in as one of their own... sure people called you outlander and they took you whatever race... but forcing the player to be dunmer to finish the MQ would be absurd.

I think the only way the Nerevarine is going to be returning in Skyrim is if we decide to continue our character from Morrowind.

Right, but since we never found out what happened to him/her, it is entirely possible (though highly unlikely) that (s)he would make an appearance.

Some people are speculating that the dragons are coming from Akavir, though, so if that does end up being the case, maybe the Nerevar will return for some reason.

I wouldn't count on it though. :P

The Ahlander's wouldn't care wether you're a Dunmer or not, seeing as you're still an Outlander. Sorry dude, Nerevarine is not canonical Dunmer.
