that would be an incredible achievement if it could ever happen (not for a good while i'll wager though).just imagine having the whole elder scrolls world to explore in one huge game (either online/offline also).

i know this much,i will have plenty of time to save up for a pc capable of running it ;-) but it would be fantastic.

the day will come though, you mark my words (nods sagely for emphasis :-)

Sure, we would need computers that would cost a fortune; very few people would be able to afford it.

I think it's possible but not likely. And I think the technology that we have now can handle the proposed game just fine.

There is a pretty vocal group of players that are adamantly against even a 2-province TES game. I think their heads would explode if what you are proposing became a reality.

I'd be fine with it as long as it was done well. They would need to hire a team of devoted writers to flesh out the world and the developers would need to spend as much time as they needed to make it.

It's very possible. The power of the hardware today isn't really the problem, the huge amount of paid manhours needed to build the world and content is, it's not really financially clever to spend huge amount of money on developing one game for 10+ years.

Although I guess they could make the game sparsely detailed, like just having one tree and one house for each continent, then they will be able to make it in no time  Using procedural generation for all the content would speed things up quite a bit too.
