Make sure you grab the SM hotfix for DR too. I do not use DR, but if you post in the DR thread, you should be able to acquire (or find) a link to it...if you do not already have the plugin, that is...

Try installing the http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=A5C84275-3B97-4AB7-A40D-3802B2AF5FC2&displaylang=en. I have no clue what the particular offset means, but it actually looks familiar, go figure...

Edit: I refrain from recommending this mod unless it seems like there is currently no other way to figure out the crash; however, you seem to have run up against a wall: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22282. If it does not prevent this crash, remove it. Good night world...

Well I don't seem to be having anymore mod related issues, now its this "ati2dvag.dll" error. In researching it a bit on the Internet, I've found that its some sort of endemic error commonplace with ATI graphics cards under Windows. And apparently there is no fix for it as far as I can tell. I've unistalled and re-installed drivers, rolled back, memtest, etc., etc.

So now I have to go buy an nVidia card it seems. Its weird though because Oblivion is the only app that causes this error, I can stream video, play other games, etc. with no problems. Anyone have any ideas on this?

That is crazy. A missing DLL file is not fixable? Post in the Hardware and Software forum about it before you go chuck out another hundred to four-hundred dollars.

Both ATI and Nvidia need an extra step when uninstalling and Installing . That would be Driver Cleaner. I don't see mention of this step . Give that a try and see if The ATI dll will play nice for you.

I actually have AMUST Drive Cleaner Pro, but I'll DL Driver Cleaner and see if that works.

I don't think its specifically a missing file, from what I gather the ati2dvag file has some sort of random or unstable incompatability with Windows XP/Vista/7. On some techie forums I've read that this file can sometimes not work, othertimes it works just fine. Its apparently several years old, possibly since SP2 or SP3 came out. Its extremely frustrating because it only seems to affect my computer when I run Oblivion, I can run X3TC for example on high graphics settings, and the script system in that game is much more intensive than Oblivion.

I was just wondering if anyone else had run into this problem. Its actually the first time I've run into it, and I've always stuck with ATI/AMD products.
