Could this be possible? Companion-owned chests, rooms, house

Hulloo,

So I've been thinking... I have my own housemod with an overload of companion suites for all of my dudes. Each room currently houses about 2-4 companions and each room has about 20-30 containers that are mostly empty or have alternative armoursets for my dudes... But I have to give them to them manually...
WIth all the talk about companionfriendly houses and the like, would the following be possible?

A chest owned by a companion, as in, the companion will sometimes put his/her gear in it and wear what is in the container instead. So for example, you have an ebony set in the chest, and the companion itself is wearing glass. Whenever the companion feels like, she'll swap outfits. That way, the awesome new modded armors we have will get to see a lot more use.

Now, expand this a bit... Several chests, so for example 4 chests each with a different armor set in them, so 5 outfits in total.

Now expand this even further: give a companion a "key" to the room and every container in that room (that cell) now belongs to the companion.

But that's pushing the idea very far.

What I would like to know is if it would be possible to just give a companion a chest or two and then have them take stuff for their own use.
To keep it simple, it would be limited to stuff you can wear. So everything in the head, chest, hands, pants and feet slots. The companion empties her outfit into an empty chest and takes out stuff from a random filled chest.

Am I clear? I'm sometimes hard to figure out.

I can't script but I could start pumping out housemods that use it, if someone made it.

Interesting. Thinking that now it is possible to designate a "Home" for a companion, and in Companion Vilja's case, the bed where she can sleep and where she can wonder, the same procedure and logic can be applied to a room.

You would need a procedure to inventory the room for the objects. Then you would have to modify companion routines to use these.

But I know nothing about modding or scripting for TES4 so "easy for me to say :) "

Hm, I have no scripting abilities even after several attempts at learning how to program, hmhmhm

So, A merchant right? When you mess up with the merchant containers, they will equip what you sell to them... Companions use containers for their share/inventory options. In some mods they go naked when you access the inventory. So I guess the scripting gives them stuff from a container. So equipping is possible. Duh.

But wait, it already exists!
Now companions like Vilja have second and third containers for sleepwear and swimwear. So in fact, it has been done before. All that needs to be done is put those containers in a room or put activators to those containers in a room. Then you'd have it already.

But in my idea, there's several outfits for the same purpose, so a randomizer would have to be used to decide which outfit is used. One could have several combat containers and a new outfit would be picked based on time of day, day, week, every 3 days when you're in the house...
I don't think this would be a problem.

But I'd like to have it be not tied to the companion, but as a separate mod so for example CM partners can have it too.

Keep at it. It would be a nice "Realism" addition.
