Could Vivec return?

Post » Sun Nov 27, 2011 8:24 pm

We know the dire stiuation that Tamriel is in, and we know that the Thalmor are poised to attack. The other races are not prepared to withstand this onslaught, along with the reduction of Talos worshippers, reducing the chance that a Shezzarine may appear. We know that Vivec lost his divinity and disappeared. It is rumored that the Daedra took him. But why would they take him instead of killing him? Dremora would usually take few prisoners, and those that they do, they torture to death. Could it be possible that Azura, the most caring for mortal affairs, or some other entity, made a deal with Dagon to secure him for a later time? I have a feeling that Vivec cannot be removed so easily, that he is intended for a greater purpose. Is it possible he would return and become a champion of Tamriel, a driving support to halt the Thalmor?

I don't buy the whole "Daedra took Vivec thing." and I honestly think the Thalmor are just bluffing on their military might at this moment. If the Thalmor were really ready to attack again they would of by now. Right now both sides are licking their wound and gearing up for the Great war v.2. As for what happened to Vivec, that was Bethesda trying to figure out a way not to completely retcon the PC choice in whether or not you killed Vivec in Morrowind. Vivec reappearing? I'd like to see it, but I doubt it'll happen.

He's CHIM'd out, godhead-tripping his way through the Padomaic Road to Amaranth.

Basically: I'm not expecting anything from Vehk or Vehk. Although the Thalmor obviously still need dealt with (TES VI: Summerset, anybody? Let's take the fight to the Dominion!).

The C0DA broke when Twice Vehk appeared again from Aether, but they captured enough of Him to render the words stable again.

The question is not can? but when? if the 5th era of the Loveletter is still slated to happen.

He appears when he appears. I honestly think having any opinions on where he is is just pointless. Vivec is. That's all. That's why he's such a BAMF.

Now my apologies for not having previously read these letters, but did the 3rd era of those loveletters say that Vivec was going to go away after the death of Ur but before the OC?

Could he? probably, although i think that line in ob was added becuase several [censored] players (this guy) killed him. Also vivec is a fan favorite character probably would have pissed off some people if he was slain by a few measly dremora during the oblivion crisis

Also i don't think vivec would actively wage war on the thalmor, he seems more like a manipulator behind the scenes. And he would probably be more worried about the current state of his people and nation

I think Vivec would probably have six with the Thalmor. Not with any Thalmor agents, just with the Thalmor. Then, somehow, the organization would give birth to a baby, which would be made entirely of toffee and jam. Then everyone would think, "this is absurd!" realize that life is nothing but a dream, and either zero-sum or achieve CHIM.

Which former glory? The xenophobic racism that encourages slavery of anything not Dunmer? Or the state-supported political infighting, complete with legally recognized and authorized Assassin's Guild? Or the urban culture vs. rural culture politireligion pseudogenocidal mess we got to see on Vvardenfell? Or, going even further back, the Murder-worshiping Padomaic's who, despite having left the Altmer on grounds of religious intolerance and difference in metaphysical opinions, had no issue with sitting their yurt-stakes in the ground and expecting an entire pre-established culture (or two, if we're generous with the Nord's claim to certain areas of modern Morrowind) to make way before them?

Face it: The Dunmer got their wakeup call. And hit the snooze button.

(Lest that come across as overly anti-Dunmer, know that they're easily in my top 3 favorite TES races, through sheer virtue of their awesome. Doesn't mean I can't see the murder-cult forest for the self-destructively racist trees.)

I wonder if Jubal is the Prophet of Landfall, and the Digitals are his path of attainment "up the mountain." His journey down being a return to Mundus, where the spirits have made peace with the Worm, with full knowledge of his deceit. I think the Wheels of Lull are the worlds he's prophesied in, and Mnemoli has been his vehicle to communicate in them.

The Scarab is his body in the Aurbis, changed at the summit of the mountain. The peak of which extends outside mortal awareness, so one can reach into the Aurbis. Mortals share in Lorkhan his body, as they all share his heart. Lorkhan is only dreaming, lost in pieces in his hypnagogia.
