Could you be anymore Ballistic Weave?

Post » Fri Mar 18, 2016 6:00 am

Love this game, just how I see it, but some of the funnest open world content available, hands down.

An issue I've found, regardless of build, regardless of save, the Ballistic Weave is an essential gear upgrade(unless ur neked). It being bomb-asf isnt the issue at all, but the fact that a game save without it is drastically hindered in terms of Damage Resistance. This isn't a bug or a glitch, albiet vague to obtain, the Ballistic Weave is an upgrade that will most likely accompany your character throughout their play through.

This topic is asking if it would be possible to implement the Ballistic Weave in some form of DLC or perks/update?

Granted this game has your player deal with any and all choices made in-game, including certain storyline endings that may render the Railroad...unreachable. But if you dont experience one of the fewer to find bugs(Nick Valentine ditched my ass), then you've probably trampled over other NPC's new limited dialogue system in an effort to progress.

I'm hoping this will call to attention the void of problems long term players face in Fallout 4, most specifically, the added availabilty of BAMF-tier Ballistic Weave to any player with the Amorer 4 perk?

I spent 175 hours on my last character and never once had access to ballistic weave, never once did I feel hindered, or under powered because of it. In fact, with decent armor, and the proper perks, BW is mostly useless later in game...unless you want to give it to your companions, in which case is not useless, but rather helpful.

You really can play without it just fine - I do it on Survival all the time. Wearing it on under-clothes like the Army Fatigues or on some hats is just overpowered, and they *ought* to patch it, but whatever.

Im a level 124 in this specific instance, and along with a multitude of perks, and an entirely upgraded legendary armour/weapon inventory, and yet I still see a huge gap in the amount of Damage Resistance I could have, if my character also had Ballistic Weave.

This isnt discussing my difficulty playing the game(subpar), but the availabilty of a genuinely all around good armor upgrade when considering charcter builds.

Mind you, it isnt a unique or even legendary item(though obtained in a unique/specific manner), but because of an arguably lame dialogue system, I made a mistake by not selecting the "sarcastic" option when speaking to tinker tom about it. This was my fault, 100%, but Im asking if upgrades like the Ballistic Weave or perhaps similar augments would be more widely available to the players who invest in long term character building.

I mean, I get that it isnt so because of how choices affect the whole of the game, but when we're talking about Fo3 stopping at lvl 30, and Fo4 capping 200+, cut me some slack lol. Besides, its my game experience, and I'd appreciate it if a small detail like this could be seen objectively. For instance, previous games added facial reconstruction simply because people wanted to fix a nose or cheek bone. This small window to obtain a great upgrade like the Ballistic Weave seems a little lame to me, for the exact same reason, sheer playthrough preference.

There is the Sliver Shroud armor and General outfit that have great defense. You could just upgrade leather or combat armor instead or use Power Armor.

I like ballistic weave for those days when I just don't feel like looking like post apocalyptic iron man.

Those are fine, but the only unique clothes set that allow for armor as well is grognak's outfit(that i know of). So without the Ballistic Weave, playing survival at level 120+ with just normal or even unique clothes is equivalent to guarding bullets with paper.

Well, in a matter such as this...if you do not want ballistic weave...the best course of action is good armor. Good armor tailored with good modifications. May not be pretty, but sometimes it's function over form.

My point exactly, minus the ballistic weave, i'd very much enjoy walking in a striped suit with the lietunants hat and know im covered. Its simply preference. I only bring up the Ballistic Weave because I dont know of any other item that can be uniquely obtained, and affect the gameplay so much, regardless of character builds or choices.

This is my originally posted issue. I already have an awesome armor set, and it does the job. This issue I'm having is being limited from a drastically bad-ass and useful upgrade for any clothes.

I guess Im asking in the forum, if its unusual or unfair to allow the Ballistic Weave to be implemented into the game via perk updates or DLC. Im asking because it reminds me of how New Vegas added facial reconstruction for what seemed a simple in-game preference.

Neither one equal level III ballistic weave nor may The Shroud or General be upgraded.

Ballistic Weave is a Railroad perk, it's not going to be added for everyone in a dlc. That said there are mods/commands that allow you to access and use Ballistic Weave if you play on PC.

I am a very real player and consumer of Bethesda games(i eat them yes).

I play on console.

And I understand its a reward for the Railroad...sigh.

I'm claiming that, considering that it being obtained isn't even the direct result of completing a quest, but instead via speech dialogue, that perhaps a second means to obtain it could appear. This is my stance on obtaining it, claiming it to be vague, considering some people play without help from tips or youtube. So yea, via Railroad, but only like if u just so happen to have sudden faith in this games unusual dialogue options.

So yea, how about not free, maybe if you already have armorer 4? Or even if becomes a specific product at certain vendors?

I already understand the particular character Im referring to will seemingly never obtain Ballistic Weave, what I'd like to know is that if such a useful armor upgrade would ever be readily available via any other means. Not simply because I want it(so badly), but because it opens up a type of gameplay any character build could enjoy.

It just seems too useful and open-ended of a perk/reward to be limited to only players who happened to press the "sarcastic" dialogue option.

I mean we all help pay for this game, and i seriously doubt adding ballistic weave would be game breaking, but is it really that farfetched to want armored clothing to be a standard level 4 armor perk? Or in-game equivalent stores or DLC?

Not like im asking to bend physics(like pc gamers readily can).

I feel like you dont understand how ro get ballistic weave which is causing confusion for you.

The ballistic weave is obtained through a mission. Not by "pressing the sarcastic dialogue option" as you seem to believe

No, I'M confused. I'm alternating a second character with my first alt, just for fun, and I was completely at a loss as to why I couldn't upgrade my clothing with ballistic weave.

I guess this is the answer- I haven't done the Freedom Trail yet with toon #2.

But I was fairly sure I did said mission... idk. Its been awhile since I spoke to the NPC's at the Railroad.

I mean, I dont see a way around it either way for my paricular game save, but I genuinely believed the mission reward/dailogue option were one of the same.

Regardless, I still dont see why such a useful reward with so many cool options doesnt translate ro the rest of the game, in terms of availability.

I guess it is a discussion, but I cant wrap my head around there being such a cool feature in-game to be the result of specific and few actions.

I know Fallout is notorious for doing this in terms storyline, and even unique items, but the Ballistic Weave is neither.

Yes it can be obtained in a unique way, but the item itself isn't unique, the craft option is, yet its applicable to any and all clothes.

So what Im mainly confused about is how such a useful option, probably one of the most open ended in terms of uses, can only be achieved in one specific way.

By this point, I guess Im just bummed the same game I play to explore with free reign has such a limited instance.

Im willing to bet ur right, and I just didnt obtain it the way I needed to in the first place, but it just went over my head *whoosh

My only opinion about Ballistic Weave is that it needs to be applicable to a wider variety of Clothing for FASHION reasons!

BoS Uniforms (all 3 types) are a must, as they synch well with various Armour setups.

"Oh, but it's OP!"

Seriously, someone just mod it in, and we'll all be laughing.

It was too OP for me. I stopped using it some builds and especially if I have power armor or use the combined clothes/armor pieces.

Dunno how you think its needed really but sure :P

I'll second that emotion.

All I really want is to be able to add weave to a drifter's outfit; the best-looking costume in the game.

It would also be nice if we could add shielding, as with the Vault suit, but you can't have everything.

All armor is pretty much useless once you reach higher levels. I feel that the "cooler" clothing is kind of a prize for leveling high enough that you no longer need to rely on armor. If you can take a hit from a leveled Bohemoth or a kamikaze mutant and survive.. You've got nothing to fear anymore.

with P.A.M. you will receive a mission that is list in your Data as " JACKPOT " .. at the completion of that mission and returning to RR HQ , that guy runs up to you and tells you " Tinker Tom has stuff for you " .. of course report to PAM and then see Tinker bell .. hit Barter and you will see , ARMOR apparel . then return to your base and see your Armor bench , at this time you show see BW available on the apparel you purchased for a BW upgrade .. now you can upgrade certain apparel with BW . Hope this helps ya
