What will there be in the solo part of the game?
Can you tell us more about the solo part of the game?
I see that you will be able to customize your character, gain exp, new weapons...etc
But where is the role-playing part of the game?
Will the island be a persistant world?
From what I've seen of the game now, it will just be another CoD, just with a little different setting, and I am not at all impressed by all those technical stuff like free-movement
you bring us to our ears and eyes.
Candy is not the real stuff.
Doesn't Bethesda intend to put a real scenario in their game, and not just a fake setting which will just be an alibi for more gun-fight like in all those
terribly boring multi fps (cod, moh, bf, tf2 and such) ?!?
The game is the same whether you are playing by yourself with all of the other players being AI, playing co-op with up to 7 friends against AI, or having every player be a person. You are even able to seamlessly go from one of these arrangements to any other. For example, letting your friends jump into your game when the come on, even in the middle of a mission. Short answer - there is no difference beyond who you are playing with and against.
The game is described as having "RPG elements" and is not a full blown RPG FPS. You will have a persistent character, but the maps will be the same each time you start them. The missions will change dynamically each time you play through, however, as they are based upon what other players are doing and what needs to be done to finish the main objective, as well as hindering enemy missions. Missions are offered to medics if teammates are downed, or to help heal a soldier if he accepts an escort mission, for example.
Customization (both of characters, and weapons), as well as the SMART system are big draws for many players, but not the only interesting features. There are several aspects different than other shooters on the market. Players are able to choose a body type for each character when its made, either Heavy, Medium, or Light. Heavy characters are the slowest, and have the least options when it comes to SMART movement (parkour), but have the largest selection of weapons; light are able to move around the maps much more dynamically, with some paths accessible only to them, but are limited when it comes to weapons. There are also character classes; Soldier, medic, engineer, and operative. All characters are able to change to any class in game by going to a command post. As characters level up, the player will be able to put skill points into certain classes making them more able with those classes, or at least have more options when playing that class.
I assume your last question is pointed at the lack of a storyline when playing most FPS games in multiplayer. Because Brink is going to blend single player and multiplayer, there will be a full storyline to the game when playing either way, complete with cut-scenes between levels. Splash Damage, the game developer (Bethesda is only publishing), was also very careful to give both sides a reason for players to support them. There is the security who are keeping the peace, and the resistance who are fighting oppression; there is no obvious right and wrong, its for each player to decide for themselves.
