A couple of questions about Crysis 2 on Steam

Post » Sun Jun 26, 2011 11:59 am

Hello guys,

We all know that Crysis 2 is removed from Steam Store, People are just busy bashing EA or Steam over the issue instead of answering questions that are getting in air because of this, my questions are:

1) I purchased the game from Steam, so is it possible that if I delete it from my system, I can redownload it latter ? Cry-Adam said that Steam will continue to provide support to those customers who bought the game from them but so far I haven't seen any response from some Steam rep ?

2) What about DLC ? what if I have to get the DLC for my Steam version ? where should I go ?

3) Will the new patch 1.9 (DX11) and possible future patches be available for us ? again Cry-Adam replied but no one from Steam ?

4) Are there any negotiations going on between EA/Crytek/Steam about the matter ? alot of customers are getting confused because of this, not to mention the new customers who want to get the game from Steam ?

I will ask same questions on Steam forums as well, for the moment either their servers are too busy or some other problem maybe due to which I am unable to make a new thread there so I am asking here (don't kill me for this as curiosity is already killing me). Sorry but this game never brought enjoyment to PC gamers (atleast me), first tons of bugs, issues etc and now as DX11 is announced (A slight hope for the dying), we have this new issue to worry about :/ seriously we pay our hard earned money to these people but what credibility do we have about them ? Devs, Publishers or DD Services.... all are same always think about their benefits and not for customers.

I will appreciate if some Crytek rep will properly answer my questions or some member who know proper details, Thanks.

The support for steam version of Crysis 2 will continue with future patches. DLC will probably have to be redownloaded through Crysis 2. The only thing is that you cannot buy Crysis 2 on steam anymore.

For the last time.
Avoid steam like the plague.
I don't understand why people keep using it.
Steam is bad, very very very bad, never use it, never trust it.
It's the worst piece of **** ever made and their prices are outrageous (assuming games are not on sale)
and if you think steam is the only digital distributor... (G2Play.net - Direct2drive.co.uk - Game.co.uk - EA Store - the list is endless)

I wouldnt go that far. but yea if possible DO NOT USE STEAM, go to the source like EA or for a 3rd party like Amazon. also Amazon is a hell of a lot cheaper than steam.
