A couple questions...

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 1:33 am

I want to use a statue of Malacath in association with an organized group of Dremoras. Is this ok to do?

What kinds of books and equippable items would an average pilgrim have? This may sound general, I just mean any 'good guy' pilgrim types, worshiping at shrines, etc. (in Morrowind, to be specific)

That's all for now. I don't want to make things too much outside of lore, and screw things up.
Thanks much!

Even though Dremoras serve Mehrunes Dagon, they are found at many shrines of other Daedra lords in Morrowind, so it should be fine. As for books, well I guess any Pilgrim in Morrowind would have a copy of The Pilgrim's Path, obviously, and maybe Saryoni's Sermons too.

Dremora generally serve Mehrunes Dagon, but there are indeed some in service to all the Princes (with the possible exception of Jyggalag) due to their exceptional combat and magical prowess.

The default Pilgrim class the player can choose at the beginning of the game uses ranged weapons, medium armor, shields, and short blades. Presumably to defend themselves from bandits and beasts on their pilgrimages.

However, the default Pilgrim class is lame.

I would go with simple rags and robes (part of the point of a pilgrimage is to practice humility. You're undergoing hardships just to visit places where beings far greater than you did good deeds.) for clothing. I recommend staffs for their weapons, since a staff can double as a walking stick.

Malacath is the patron of outcasts, pariahs and other misfits.

Since many Dremora chose NOT to serve Dagon with their kin, and many even serve mortal sorcerers or the Dunmer Temple as guardians and Pilgrimage helpers, there's already a precedent in lore for them serving other masters besides Dagon. It's not unrealistic at all to assume a few could serve Malacath, although it's important to remember that Malacath's main servants are some members of the Orc species, certain Goblin tribes, and powerful Daedric creatures called Ogrim.

Can a Dremora serve more than one god, at the same time?

Would it make any sense if there were a statue of Malacath and Molag Bal (hypothetically) within one organization of Dremora?

Thanks...

Does it still stand that Ogrim are related to Clanfear, or are Clanfear now considered part of the 'fauna of Oblivion' like Daedroth's are?
