Courier vs courier

Post » Fri Apr 02, 2010 3:56 pm

I don't know what the next dlc will be or when. I'm curious to the end of dead money.........!!!!!maybe a spoiler!!!!!!.............

where almost all the endings mentioned a courier versus courier future where they all hear of our courier again. Anybody know which dlc that's suppose to be? I'm new to the forums btw and have not seen any talk of this particular senario. Also the spelling needs to be overlooked as well due to I'm here on my iPhone. So if I can recall the end said something about courier vs courier under a flag. Also I remember the talk in primm with Nash about another courier made sure that our courier was the one to get the job and he passed it up, and maybe he was overtly curious about which one would be chosen. Anything yet play out in the current main game or are these future dlc? Only reason I ask if it's in the main game is that although I've put in massive amount of hours I find new stuff Everytime I play. Although I've almost platinumed it.

The Courier mentioned in Dead Money and the one mentioned by Johnson Nash are likely one and the same.

I'll put it under a spoiler tag in case you want to find it out for yourself:

Spoiler
His name is Ulysses. He was supposed to be companion in FO:NV, but he was cut last-minute. He will likely play a major role in the final DLC, Lonesome Road. You can read about him http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Ulysses

The courier vs. courier battle would be in the 4th DLC, most likely titled The Lonesome Road. And it should once where ever the Big Divide is at.

NOTE; any or all of this info is speculation based on what's allready mentioned in the game and what has been leaked out by the game developers. It's possable that there may be more DLCs after the 4th, but they'd likey be just add-ons. I think we'll know a great deal more on the DLC story progression after the 2nd DLC, (Honest Hearts....?) comes out.

Sweet! Cool thanks for the answers. After reading the info on the other courier it seems hard to believe otherwise. Also everyones criticism of dead money being svcky is just their opinion. I thought it was great. A little dreary and depressing. Doesn't have to be though if you get out with the 37 gold bars. ;)

Most of the people who say it svcks are just mad they had an actual challenge that wasnt 'herp derp run n gun' and had to actually think to complete it.

I'm thinking them both fighting under a flag doesn't necessarily mean against each other. Could be fighting as a team against something/someone else. Since he was supposed to be a companion, I'm thinking this is the case.

Kinda like how Christina Royce was supposed to be one in Van Buran. But since the change in time period, they changed her name to Christine and made her someone other than the girl Chosen One saved at The Squat/Vault 15 (as far as we know anyway).

I'm putting it in spoiler tags in case anyone who reads this hasn't completed DM yet:

Spoiler
Dog's ending slide: The new voice did not think of the Courier again until the battle at the devide reached his ears. The battle between the two couriers, beneath the torn skies and the Old World flag... Each bearing a message for the other. And the mutant prayed the courier that had saved him... had been saved in return.

Spoiler
Christine's ending slide: At times, Christine thought of the Courier, who had kept Elijah's hand from her throat. The Courier reminded her of the other courier she had met in the Big Empty, and wondered if the two had found each other at last. She did not think of them again until she heard the legends of the Divide. The Divide, where the two messengers, the two couriers, fought beneath an ancient flag, at the edge of the world.

Christine's slide could be interpreted that way, but Dog's ending slide states they are indeed fighting each other.

I wouldn't get too excited, there's only so much that Obsidian can do with this engine.

Very true. I really hope Skyrim's engine will be a major improvement.

I do hope we have more sweet cutscenes in the upcoming DLC like Benny's cutscene in the NV intro.

We then learn that Ulysses and the other Courier in Lonesome Road decide to just have a chat involving opposing philosophical views and the future of the wastland, a scholarly debate while sipping tea. Both couriers provide fine arguments and still reach a stalemate. They agree to disagree and move on thier merry way.
