Courier 6 Power Armor

Post » Thu Aug 26, 2010 5:48 am

More or less did this for fun so I'm not sure if anyone would like this thing uploaded to the nexus

So I always hated that the only power armor in Fallout was associated with a group or faction I might not want to be associated with (B.O.S. Enclave Tribal Raiders). And even if it wasn't it looked exactly the same except for a sticker on the shoulder. So I thought I'd texture up a hero specific set. With all my insane attention to detail.

I kind of always liked the rusty thrown together look of the tribal armor from the pitt, so I wanted this set to feel kind of the same way, as if the courier had put it together from spare parts and sheets of metal in his/her house/hut/private vault whatever ... but without the weird raider skull fetish.

Looks good! Have you considered to make a mod for all fraction power armors?

I love it, though I think you should go for more of a Western feel with it. Can't really come up with anything more descriptive than "it needs more country."

Maybe update the normal map to include some engraved flourishes or something along those lines.

That's really funny and well done. They'd know it was you for sure under that helmet!

Speaking as someone who misses the Tribal Power Armor terribly, I really like this armor. I feel it could stand to be a little more rusty (Not the Brown of Tribal, but it's still a little too Steel Gray), and I'm not wild about the Courier Six in the front, but overall this is a very impressive piece of work.

How about a mismatched armor? T-45 looks good, but what about just keeping the helmet, and use the remnant body. :celebration:

GCRust ... So I'm going to work on the texture a bit, I do think it's still a little too polished. I'm also going to include a version without the courier 6 spray painted on the front.

Any ideas on how to western this thing up? Keep in mind I'm a texture guy, and I can't make meshes (and I refuse to learn).

Engraved designs on the armor - similar to what you see on the Ranger Sequoia. Possibly also make it less gray and more tan/brown.

Anyway, it looks really nice. Doesn't fit the characters I tend to make, but I can appreciate it on its artistic merits.
