I loved Jennifer Hale as Bastilla Shan in KotOR and was thrilled when I turned on Mass Effect and heard that she was the voice of FemShep. Especially after being annoyed by MaleSheps voice.

ive always preferred mark, imo hale lacks the inspiring boom in her voice for a leadership role but i enjoyed her in metal gears.

For me Meer was just waaaay too flat in his delivery as Shep to be inspiring. Or even engaging to listen to.

I would have preferred his voice to be a bit gruffer. To me, he always sounded like he was talking through his nose.

I really like both of the voice actors for this game. I'm definitely going to be playing both genders in Fallout 4.

Great interview. Being a voice actor would be pretty fun.. Lots of work and probably little recognition outside the voice over community... but since I've never figured out why anyone would want to be easily recognizable and have to deal with celebrity, not having to deal with recognition sounds like a perk.

Hated Voiced Protagonist at 1st, saw the Brian Interview was convinced. This interview pretty much seals it. Only thing I'm concerned about is if Emil got better at writing from Skyrim, I have my fingers crossed that is a yes.

Sometimes I wonder what those who complain about male voice acting being 'flat' expect in a male voice. Better to come across as 'flat' or 'deadpan' than some over-emotional drama club reject suffering from a severe case of estrogen exposure.

If you think in terms of dichotomies then sure. Meer is the only Bioware voice protag I have this issue with. Well him and Sumalee from DAI. So see any of those for what I'd consider unflat acting without them having their testosterone stained mancard revoked.

I think what was needed was a bit more oomph, more power, more emotion. Picard is an example of this. Shepard sounded like he/she was reading from a teleprompter rather than talking with emotion.

She also played the voice of Leah from Diablo 3.

I did too. I've been playing Star Wars: The Old Republic recently and it's a treat for me to hear Hale do the voice of Bastila's descendant, Satele Shan, in that game.

When I finally get my PC built I will probably check it out. I was so sad when they decided to turn TOR series into an MMO (mainly because I only had an Xbox and couldn't play it lol). Is it free to play now or is there a subscription involved with it? Can you play it alone or do you have to play with... others?

It is free to play but it has many restrictions on the free to play accounts. You can play by yourself pretty easily. There are some Heroic 2+ and Heroic 4 missions that can be played solo since you are given a companion. You can purchase a subscription to remove all the restrictions and after your subscription runs out your account becomes a "preferred" (or something like that) and some, but not all restrictions are put back into place. You can also purchase some of the things you are restricted from through the cartel market, such as additional action bars, but you will never have all the privileges that a subscriber will have. I much prefer ESO version of free to play.

Depends. All the main stories you can do by yourself certainly. Endgame things however are pretty much all group-oriented. The expansion that's coming out soon is supposed to be single-player focused however.

Just wanted to throw something into the mix on here. First of all, I think Courtenay Taylor sounds incredible as the female lead from what little we've heard from her so far. Secondly, I have found evidence that the female protagonist is actually a Marine, which should give her something of an edge during gameplay. For the record, the same evidence also suggests that the male protagonist is a Navy SEAL.

Just wanted to let you all know. This should make things a lot more interesting if we choose to play as a female protagonist

Haha...

Hudson (male): Hey Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man?

Vasquez (female): No, have you?

Now that would be a worthy reference to include in the game!

EDIT: as TheCheshireKhajiit clearly agrees lol, just saw your post :)
