Covenant broken?

If you choose to take the town by force the beds always say owned, the doors always relock themselves and the previous inhabitants bodies never go away. This seems like a bug since I pretty much now own the town. I should also be able to take control of all of those gun turrets somehow...

Yeah, you can't scrap those beds, either. I've decided to just close the gate and forget that place ever existed.

Yeah that's why I redid the mission and chose the other path.

Spoiler
  • Deciding to side with the Doctor, Honest Dan will become hostile and killing him will be necessary. Also, inspecting Amelia's body reveals she was indeed a synth. Return to Jacob to win Covenant as a usable settlement.
  • Deciding to side with Honest Dan and free Amelia will turn the Doctor and the rest of the Compound hostile, making it necessary to kill them all. Amelia is in one of the cells up the stairs which can be opened by using the computer terminal. Speak to Dan to receive a reward. By passing increasingly harder speech checks, more reward can be earned. Choosing this option will also turn the inhabitants of Covenant hostile. Kill them all except Deezer to win it as a usable settlement.

Is there a safe way to reset the quest? It bugged out for me, so I can't get it as a settlement. More details https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/comments/3tgqu4/spoilers_is_there_any_way_to_fix_covenanthuman/. Apparently part of the issue was the Targeting mod for the power armor helmet. Is there a way to restart the quest without causing other things in the game to glitch? Unfortunately I don't have any saves before this happened... lesson learned.

After you complete the Human error quest and own Covenant as a settlement, all of the items inside will still be marked as owned, making all of your settlers immediately hostile if anything is taken.

This can be fixed via the console on pc by manually selecting any owned items and using the "setownership" command, making them able to be retrieved without issue.

--------------

These bugs only apply if you have taken the destroy the bunker and attack the town route. !!!

If you have subdued the bunker with the charisma option then the turrets wont target you, and all things may be picked up without mishap.

I don't have Covenant as a settlement though. The quest bugged out and completed, but Covenant itself is acting like nothing ever happened. They're not hostile but they're not allied either.
