I approached Covenant for the first time, passed the test and then we were attacked by Super Mutants. The guy giving me the test ran off but came back after I killed the bad guys.

Now the door shows as locked but each time I talk to the guy at the door he just says, "The door's unlocked, just go on in".

I can't pickpocket him for the key and I can't get in.

Does anyone know a way around this frustrating bug?

If you are on a computer, then click on the door while in console mode and type unlock. You can type tcl, but it would be irritating to type it each time to get into the compound. If you are on console, then you have to use a previous save.
