Cool, I'm gonna try again tonight and keep an eye on my mods then. Maybe I just missed it.

Lol no joke! I've been hauling a bunch of weapons around for awhile now, just waiting until I have the materials to create a different mod for them so I can get the one I want off of them. If all I had to do was Scrap them via the Workbench menu I'll punch myself in the face, lol

Sorry to get your hopes up...it really SHOULD work that way, but I was wrong... You DO have to mod the weapon, still... I ended up with all those mods somehow, I really don't think they were all from modding my own weapons....

Completely silly to think of all the caps worth of mods I've scrapped along with the weapons for a couple screws...

Not all weapons and armor. If a weapon/armor can't be modded, it won't show up in the list when at the bench. Ego: no scrapping at that location. You're forced to drop them and scrap them on the ground.

You can put the mods in the transfer section, it should show them in inventory or something

It's not so bad when you get used to it. You're just "rebuilding" the standard part of the weapon,

Good lord... I didn't know this! I've been manually placing them around my base only to have them glitch out and disappear.

It may be that you need two or three perks in Gun Nut for this to work. I'm going to start adding Gun Nut perks after I get Local Leader 2.

I don't think it's part of the perk description, but it would definitely make sense. Trying it.

More than likely. If it disappears try switching to third person and back.

true but is only like 15% of what you haul so that is still a lot less dropping.

Another one a lot of people missed was weapon bolstering. First few days all I read about was how people couldn't believe they couldn't holster their weapon. Well, turns out you can. You have to hold down the R button, not just press it

Remove the mods before you scrap them, you can then use them on other weapons. Handy if you don't have the gunnut or armorer perks.

Another little thing not so much a tip but a fun feature, if you give dogmeat a teddy bear, he will play with it. Everybody now AWWWWWWW!

Not sure if this is common knowledge but ...

You do not have to manually scrap any junk. You can just craft and it scraps to materials for you.

It looks like a power attack finisher to me.

The game has a lot that it lacks proper tutorial pops for. Someone I know was playing for hours without using vats because the game didn't tell them about q button for vats like fallout 3 told you about vats and this was their first fallout experience.

Lack of proper tutorials are a problem all around.

SWEET

My bro told me about the cover system, and I immediately discovered that enemies don't detect you as well when you're looking around corners. I'm not sure if they can detect you at all.

I minor thing, but if you press B(Circle,Right) to skip dialogue your character will say something rude, often tailored to the character your talking to.

A few i've heard so far:

" self-righteous [censored]..." -the overseer of vault 81

"yeah, you like guns. I got it..." -KlE0 in Goodneighbor

"shaad aaauwp!", "blah..blah..blah...blah..." - general

AWWWWW! lol

Yes, but if you don't want to spend the materials to make a replacement mod, you can't just remove the current one for free. You need to have something to replace it, which means either having a less desirable mod on hand, or spending materials to build one. You can't just scrap the gun and harvest materials and mods.

I heard if you have a gun with a sight and you want the sight but not the gun, you could take it off it at a weapons bench and it will go to your inventory. Maybe its just sights it works with as you can select the 'no sights' while modifying.
