[WiPz] CRAFT 2.0

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 11:43 pm

CRAFT 2.0 is in sight ladies and gentleman! And this release will be a big one. :)

What will be new in 2.0?
=====================
Dismantle System - You can now take apart all Vanilla FO3 weapons for their parts. Depending on your repair skill, you will be able to salvage more parts. If you successfully salvage every part of the weapon, you will get schematics for that weapon. (CRAFT Modders will be able to add their own items to the dismantle list as well. ;))
New items for CRAFTing - Firing Pins, Revolver Chambers, Rusty Blades, Refined Blades, Leather, Particle Accelerators, the list goes on, use them to create your ultimate weapon and armor schematics!
Schematics for every Vanilla Weapon.
100% comparability with previous CRAFT Schematics.

I have high hopes this will be released later this month!

*swoon*

..... oh, if only those salvaged parts could optionally be packed into portable 'repair kits' (a la http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7023, given that you've already got the "salvage" part....) so that one could use them to repair items when you were out in the Wasteland, and then you'd only have to drag all those extra copies of armor/weapons home to dismantle them, but not everywhere you went, to repair anything at all....

.... just a little dream I have, but hey--- boo yaah! CRAFT 2.0!!! What's not to love?!!! :D Can't wait!

That sounds awesome. I'm definitely gonna add the schematic items to more leveled lists so that I can take them apart to figure out how they work. :)

Just a tiny update. CRAFT 2.0 is currently at a standstill for reasons I probably shouldn't go into right now. Rest assured however, the update will be well worth it, thanks to a lovely feature I have yet to announce. ^_^

I will however try to have a video up sometime soon to prove that work has been done on it. ;)

So...I could potentially dismantle several cruddy Hunting Rifles, shotguns, and maybe a pistol or three, and build my own guns? I mean like, taking the barrel off a broken shotgun, the stocks and firing mechanisms of a rifle, I could rebuild that rifle?

This...just blew my socks off. Please, excuse me, I need to find my socks.

I don't think that's quite how it works. I don't think you can combine them, but you could take apart a 10mm to get the firing pin so that you could finish working on that hunting rifle.

At least, that's how I understood it to work.

Well, that's what I meant, but you make it sound better. Anyways, using gun parts, and not guns, sounds way better than what there was before.

Awesomeness on a stick.

All the parts are interchangeable between guns, however, you need to actually have schematics for the guns you plan to make. :)

Okay, I'm off to do my happy dance of "Awesomemodiscomeingout", so...yeah, I'm gonna go clear Super Duper Mart in happiness.

And, if today couldn't get any better - my air conditioner unit went out, and my friend's family bought me a window unit. I dunno whether to cry or do the happy dance. Or both.

That reminds me... I never finished my Workbench Items Rebalanced mod... I may have to tweek it for CRAFT 2.0's dismantle option. It'll actually make that useful, since as it is, it's easy enough to make the junk components part of the weapons' repair lists and negating the purpose of getting more than one schematic.

I waited more than three days...so nobody get agitated with me. I really don't want this to die - and I know how easy it is to forget about something and then it die.

I'd really like to have this reach fruition.

I'm just trying to keep a dash of the spotlight on the thread, is all.

I really, really, really, would hate to see the best thing to ever happen to crafting die.

Oh, I totally understand, believe me. Too many great looking mods have gone by the wayside over time... I don't want this to be one of them!

I mean, I already have plans for how it'll play into my custom repair lists... :)

I appreciate everyone being patient, but as I said, the project is at a standstill at the moment, for reasons beyond my control, I promise however, I will have a Proof of Concept video out ASAP. :)

Would you consider telling us? I understand if it's private, but if it's not too bad, would you consider telling via PM?

I promise I'm not trying to rush you, I'm just really anxious for something like this. That should have been in the vanilla game. That would have been totally cool. Much cooler than a steam powered nail gun. xD

Well, I was hoping to keep this secret, but, I have been keeping you guys in the dark for quite a while now. Let's just say that I am working closely with ElminsterEU to add some VERY special functionality to CRAFT. ElminsterEU however hurt himself very badly not too long ago, and is unable to work on his computer without putting himself in unbearable pain. I COULD continue production of CRAFT 2.0, but it would significantly increase the production time, and I still wouldn't release CRAFT 2.0 until that functionality was added anyway. ;)

Damn straight.

A man should never have to suffer for the whims of others. But, I still look forward to when he does feel up to modding again. With no rush from me!

If you're reading this, Elminster, feel better soon! It's bad to have a man down.
