Crafting CTD

Post » Sat Jul 24, 2010 8:24 am

I've made a bunch of recipes for assembling and disassembling power armor that use the workbench and two new subcategories, Power Armor Assembly and Power Armor Disassembly. The assembly recipes seem to work OK I think, but the disassembly recipes cause a CTD on mouseover in the crafting menu. Has anybody experienced this? The only thing I can think of is that the disassembly recipe titles are longer than the assembly titles, so I'll try shortening some of them to see if that helps.

The effect names might be too long.

Effect? Do you mean the recipe names, or the ingredient names? I just tried shortening the recipe name for one of them and it didn't help.

I was able to solve the issue. I'm pretty sure it ended up being because I was using leveled items as the recipe output, rather than just armors. Leveled items show up on the list of possible outputs in the GECK, and don't cause any editor errors, but the game itself doesn't seem to like them very much.

Another interesting thing to note is that scripts don't seem to run on objects added to the player's inventory via crafting.
