Crafting in ESO

Post » Tue Dec 31, 2013 10:57 am

Ok i havnt gotten in the beta and i havnt heared or seen anything really that talks about what kind of crafting will be available in ESO. I assume it will be just like Skyrim but that kinda svcks if theres only like 5-6 armors to craft excluding weapons and such. I really am excited to see if this crafting system will actually be useful... lets be honest here in past MMO's crafting svcks after you can do your first dungeon and get gear 10X better keep in mind thats like level 10-15. so what i get to craft for like 10 levels then its useless? will that be the same case? or does ESO plan to incorporate skyrim where you can craft better than anything you can get?

They've said that crafters will be able to improve any item, wherever it came from. So yeah, it's definitely gonna be useful at endgame.

They've stated before that some of the best gear will come from crafting, on par with AZ, master dungeon and pvp gear, so no worries there, I'll see if there's any videos on this.

ESOs crafting system is going to be way more in-depth compared to Skyrims.

Here's a video about exploring, gathering and crafting (a little dated now)

Here's the Ask us Anything about crafting too

A little dated now, but I understand one of the recent changes they made was been able to master all professions now?

I have to say..and I have said it many times before...I'm concerned over the depth and breadth of the crafting system.Three and a half months till launch and all we have are glittering generalities.

I want a deep, immersive world class crafting system....not a "crafting lite" activity.

Similar to Skyrims system, is that too general for you?

Not to be confrontational.....but yes.

(fyi I don't play the vanilla SKYRIM game.I couldn't tell you many details about it's crafting. I only play the "SKYRIM REDONE" mod where there is in depth crafting fully integrated into the perk tree. Now if you said to me..."similar to the crafting in that mod.. I would be more than pleased...and understand completly).

It's more similar to Skyrims crafting than your standard MMO I would say, compared to wows or swtors crafting, it seems a million times better, and more in depth, of course it could be more in depth, so could anything, however we haven't seen much info about crafting recently, it's quite a while since we heard anything new, other than we can master all professions now.

Something I would like to see is different quality armour, so stuff like low quality or high quality Iron Gauntlets for example, depending on the quality of materials, I'm not sure if this is in, but that would make it a lot more in depth, we'll have to wait and see for further info, and see what's it like in the open beta.

PS, I agree Skyrims crafting was very general, I only ever focused crafting on one character, got smithing to 100, never doing that again!

Yeah I would definitely say this. From what it sounds like, ESO's crafting is not your standard MMO crafting, it's a lot more in-depth.

I don't think we will be disappointed, to say the least ;)

SKYRE crafting has different ores for increased stats(like vanilla skyrim)...PLUS perk lines for each weapon type.So if you were into recurve bows...you can not only build bows with better materials...but enhance your abilities with perks...such as being able to upgrade an enchanted weapon.....or smelt down weapons to their base materials for reuse ...for example.

Crafting...for me..is a fairly big deal.I love to have great things ad am more than willing to put in the time and effort to get them. HERE'S HOPEING !! :D
